                Obit for Jessie Eleanor Stowers Willis

Graveside services for Jessie Eleanor Stowers Willis were held May 28 at 2:00
p.m. in the Lebanon Cemetery with Rev. Roy Vinson officiating.

Mrs. Willis died May 25, 1996, in Longview, Texas. The daughter of Eleanor
"Ivy" and Peter Travis Stowers, Mrs. Willis was born February 1, 1907, and grew
up in the Whitesboro, Texas, and Marietta communities.

She was married to Joseph Clinton Willis September 12, 1926, in Marietta. Mrs.
Willis was a member of the North Avenue Baptist Church in Whitesboro.

She is survived by a son, J.C. Willis, Jr. of Longview; a daughter Patsy Autrey
of Denton, Texas; five grandchildren, David Willis, Cynthia Willis, James
Autrey, Judith Sisson and Lydia Broyles; five great-grandchildren; and several
nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Willis was preceded in death by her husband on January 9, 1986; a son,
Willard Eugene Willis in 1995; her parents; two sisters, three brothers and a
granddaughter.
