Binford Graveside services for James H. Binford, 86, of Marietta, were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 23, at Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, with the Rev. David Colaw officiating. Mr. Binford was born July 30, 1915, in Fort Worth, Texas, the son of John and Ida Woodhall Binford. He died Wednesday, February 20, 2002, in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta. A resident of Love County for the past 25 years, Mr. Binford was retired from the oil exploration industry, working in Midland and Houston, Texas, and in Louisiana. He also was in the Chinese National Air Force for 2-1/2 years, serving in India. Mr. Binford was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his companion, Jane Moore of the home; two sons, John F. Binford and William "Bill" Binford, both of Houston; and 15 grandchildren. Mr. Binford was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, James H. Binford, Jr. Honorary pallbearers were Mike Moore, Jeff Moore and Herbert Moore. Services were under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
