Rick Sowell and the Rev. Tommy Higle officiating. Mr. Jackson was born March 12, 1951, at Marietta, the son of Elvin and Rosa Mae Freeman Jackson. He died Friday, June 1, 2001, at Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City. Mr. Jackson had lived in Love County since 1970. A 1969 graduate of Ardmore High School, he had been employed as a tire builder at Uniroyal in Ardmore for 18 years. He loved spending time with his family and his children and grandchildren were the light of his life. Mr. Jackson always knew the best example for them was by the life he led. He was a true cowboy who enjoyed team roping. Mr. Jackson was a member of the Eastman Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Dora Jackson of the home; three daughters and sons- in-law, Trina and Brent Westfall of Marietta, Cheryl and Chuck Loving of Prosper, Texas, and Lori Jackson of Woodbine, Texas; two brothers, David Jackson of Texarkana, Texas, and Bobby Jackson of Baytown, Texas; two sisters, Frances Andrews of Baytown and Dawnyce Casey of Ardmore; and seven grandchildren, Jeremy, Jamie, Jordan, Jaxon, Josie, Colten and Taylor. Pallbearers were Randall Jackson, Donnie Gillham, Dale Harvey, Sonny Mobley, Bill Johnson and Martin Sullivan. Honorary pallbearers were Mark Basinger, Wayne Allison, Randy Nelson, Chance Tynes, David Hull, David Miller, Buddy Norman, Anthony Brown, Carl Powell, Rodney Welch, L.J. Lornes, Jerrel Miller, Steve Birdwell, and Jimmy's other roping buddies. Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery in Marietta, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
