Mr. Elliott was born March 14, 1910, in the farming community of Ralls County, Missouri. He died Thursday, September 6, 2001, at the home of his daughter. Mr. Elliott moved to Tulsa in the late 1930s and graduated from the University of Tulsa with a bachelor of science degree in chemistry. He retired in 1975 from Amoco Petroleum after 34 years of service. Mr. Elliott moved to the EEE Ranch in Thackerville last Christmas after suffering mild strokes. His wife, Edith M. Elliott, had also moved to Thackerville and she preceded him in death. Mr. Elliott was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. Survivors include a daughter, M. Elizabeth "Libby" Elliott of Thackerville; a son, William H. Elliott of Tulsa; and four grandchildren, Catherine E. Coday, James J. Elliott III, Jack C. Elliott and John J. Elliott of Dallas. Mr. Elliott was also preceded in death by a son, James J. Elliott II. Arrangements were under the direction of Fitzgerald Ivy Chapel in Tulsa.
