The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ *********************************************************************** Obit for Jimmy Louis Stofel Services for Jimmy Louis Stofel, 60, of Gunter, Texas, were held Monday, April 17, in Flesher Funeral Home Chapel, Van Alystne, Texas, with Tex Monk officiating. Mr. Stofel was born October 27, 1939 south of Leon, the son of Elmer K. and Georgia Brewer Stofel. He died Thursday, April 13, 2000 at his home in Gunter. He was born and raised in Leon and graduated from Leon School in May 1959. He and Sue Prince were married May 26, 1962, in Marietta. He joined the Jimtown Baptist Church at an early age. He was employed at Burlington Industries in Sherman, Texas for six years. He also worked at the Hunt Ranch in Gunter until 1977, and at the Yates Ranch in Sivells Bend, Texas until 1983. He was employed by Magnifab in Howe, Texas for a number of years until illness forced his retirement in September 1999. Survivors include his wife, Sue Prince Stofel of Gunter; one son and daughter-in-law, John and Debra Stofel of Celina, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Kenneth Jaresh of Gunter and Teresa and Alan Monk of Dorchester, Texas; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; five brothers, Kenneth Stofel and Mac Stofel of Leon, John Stofel of Kingston, Wes Stofel of Marietta and Eddie Stofel of Andrews, Texas; and three sisters, Ann Flatt of Marietta, Mary Stonebarger of Howe and Reba Taylor of Ringling.
