Steve Gardner officiating. Mr. Ruth was born August 22, 1916, at Marietta and died November 8, 1999, at Presbyterian Hospital in Greenville, Texas, at the age of 83. He was the son of Francis Manuel and Hollie Mae Cash Ruth. A resident of Marietta all of his life, he married Mary Inez Denney on April 6, 1939, in Ardmore. Mr. Ruth owned and retired from his dry cleaning business in Marietta. A member of Marietta's Eastside Baptist Church, he enjoyed fishing and gardening. Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law, Gary and Sally Ruth of Dallas, Texas, and Rodney Kim Ruth of Nigeria, Africa; a daughter, Janie Allen of Quinlan, Texas; a sister, Lillie Mae Oliver of San Diego, California; and a grandson, Bradley Allen of Sand Springs. Mr. Ruth was preceded in death by his wife on August 22, 1997; a sister, Juanita MacDonnell; and two brothers, Alfred Ruth and J.D. Ruth. Services are under the direction of Kennedy Funeral Home with interment in Lakeview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Al Hendrix, Jack Hull, Melvin Wade, Clyde Rhoades, Claude Brannan and Bud Hill.
