Jones, Sr. Services for Jack W. Jones, Sr. of Hobbs, New Mexico, were Tuesday, November 9, at the Immanual Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Lott officiating. Born November 28, 1920, in Love County, Mr. Jones died Saturday, November 6, at Lea Regional Medical Center at the age of 78. A long time resident of Hobbs, he married Doris McAdams on April 16, 1944 in Snyder, Texas. Mr. Jones worked as a mechanic at the Ford Motor Company for many years and was a veteran of World War II. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Baugh of Hobbs and Freida Bates of Marietta; three sons, Rick Jones and Jack W. Jones, Jr. of Hobbs and Jerry Jones of Los Angeles, California; five brothers, George Jones and Bob Jones of Thackerville, Val Jones of Ardmore, Ted Jones of Gainesville, Texas and Bill Jones of Marietta; four sisters, Joyce McKay of Choctaw, Ruth Johnson of Grand Prairie, Texas, Sally Garcia of Ft. Worth, Texas and Dolly Bone of Thackerville; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his wife on January 29, 1996; his parents and two brothers. Services were under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home with interment in the Prairie Haven Memorial Park. Source: Marietta Monitor, Love County, November 12, 1999.
