Tommy Higle officiating. Born May 9, 1914, at Orr, Mrs. Gilcrease died December 12, 1999, in Elmbrook Nursing Home, Ardmore. She was the daughter of Cleve and Mary Burt Gay. A resident of Love County most of her life, she married Felix Gilcrease August 1, 1932. Mrs. Gilcrease retired as the owner/operator of Kitty's Dress Shop here in Marietta. She had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Marietta since 1949 and had taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley Tipton of Lone Grove, Joan and Cecil Cole of Wheaton, Illinois, and Mary Kay and Mike Davis of Austin, Texas; two brothers, Clint Gay of Marietta and Clarence Gay of Hughson, California; two sisters, Kaye Tipton of Arcade, California, and Betty Jackson of Tulsa; seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great- grandson. Mrs. Gilcrease was preceded in death by her husband on April 10, 1984; a son, D.C. Gilcrease in 1934; and a brother, Clyde Gay in 1995. Services were directed by Kennedy Funeral Home with interment in Crow Cemetery in rural Love County. Pallbearers were Mike Tipton, Alan Tipton, Jay Tipton, Dia Davis, Kerry McGill, Chris Cole and Curt Cole. Honorary bearers included Eldridge Colston, Randall Gilcrease, Chuck Gilcrease, Rusty Gilcrease, Larry Gilcrease and Ronnie Gay. Source: Marietta Monitor, Love County, December 17, 1999.
