Thelma L. Knezek, 93, a longtime resident of Granbury and former longtime resident of Wichita Falls, passed away Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005, in Granbury. Funeral Mass: 9 a.m. Friday at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Granbury. Graveside service: 3:30 p.m. Friday in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Wichita Falls. Rosary and visitation: 7 p.m. Thursday at Wiley Funeral Home. Memorials: American Stroke Association, Box 15186, Austin, Texas 78761. Thelma, also known as Velma and more commonly known as Granners, was born in Anson on June 3, 1912. Thelma and Edward S. Knezek were wed June 10, 1931, in Marietta, Okla. Edward passed away April 23, 1960, in Oklahoma City. Thelma retired from the Wichita Falls State Hospital in 1980. She moved from Wichita Falls to Granbury in 1986. She was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family. She had a quick wit and enjoyed her family, friends and life, and she was active in the Indian Harbor Ladies Society. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a sister, Opal; two brothers, Coolidge and John; and a daughter-in-law, Ann Knezek. Survivors: Sons, Edward Knezek Jr. of Granbury and Stephen Knezek and wife, Victoria, of New Haven, Conn.; grandchildren, Deborah Standridge and husband, Scott, Theresa McFarlane and husband, Doug, Sharon Myers and husband, Edward, Thomas Knezek, Paul Knezek and Margaret Knezek; and great-grandchildren, Amber Standridge, Heather McFarlane, Devin Gentry, Brooke Gentry and David McFarlane.
