FRED LANFORD - # 1814 Services for Richardson dentist Dr. Fred Lanford will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church in Richardson. Dr. Lanford died of a heart attack Friday in Plano. He was 72. The Oklahoma native was a graduate of Baylor College of Dentistry and had practiced at his Richardson office, on Hampshire Lane at Arapaho Road since 1955. Dr. Lanford, a member of numerous professional organizations, also contributed his services to under-privileged children, in Mexico and at area children's homes. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Lanford of Richardson; a son Fred Lanford Jr. of Richardson; three daughters, Dr. La Juana Garrison of Richardson, Rebecca Coker of Rowlett and Jenny Kettering of Plano; two stepdaughters, Kathy Carter of Richardson and Lynda Reiser of Pryor, Okla; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Endowment Fund, Waco Methodist Children's Home or Happy Hills Farms in Granbury, Texas. DALLAS ,MORNING NEWS - FEB 23, 1994 LANFORD # 1814 Dr. Fred H., passed away February 18, 1994. He was born march 27, 1921 in Marietta, Ok. He attended public schools in Oklahoma an Texas. He was a Medical corpsman (Pharmacist's Mate) in the U.S. Navy in WW II. He graduated from Baylor Dental School in 1955 and has been active in his general practice up to the time of his death. He traveled to Mexico (Monterey) once a month for ten years to care for the dental needs of orphans there. He is a member of the Texas and American Dental Associations, Dallas County Dental Society, Century Club of Baylor College of Dentistry, International College of Dentistry and the Kiwanis Club. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Richardson, where he served on the Administrative Board. he also was an active member in the Wesleyan Sunday School Class. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo; son and daughter-in-law, Fred, Jr. & Kathy Lanford; daughters, Dr. La Juana Garrison, Jenny Kettering, Rebecca Coker and son-in-law, Randy Coker; step-daughters & sons-in law Kathy & Jim Carter of Richardson, Lynda and Ron Reiser of Pryor, Ok; brother and sister-in-law, Lee Juan & Bennye Lanford of Dallas; sister-in-law, Anna Lou Ferguson of Merkel; five grandsons; six granddaughters; one great- granddaughter. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 21, 1994 at First United Methodist Church, Richardson, 534 W. Beltline Road, Richardson with the Revs. Stanley Seat , David Shawver and Mac McPherson, Officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be; Dr. F.E. Brooks, Bob Huddleston, Raymond Bynum, Wayne Hamrick, George Isom, Ronald Thomason, Stanley Beall and Marvin Penny.
