                        Frank Griffin

Services for Frank Griffin, 78, of Oswalt, were held at 11 a.m., Saturday,
March 30, in the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel, Wilson, with the Rev. Dennis
Holcomb and the Rev. Bob Cox officiating.

Mr. Griffin was born June 24, 1923, at Oswalt, the son of Homer Lee and Viola
Jane Davidson Griffin. He died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at Gainesville, Texas,
following an automobile accident.

Raised at Oswalt, Mr. Griffin lived in this area until moving his family to
Oregon in 1965. He and Billie Lou Cox were married March 24, 1941, at Wilson.
She preceded him in death on March 13, 2002. The Griffins returned to Oklahoma
several times, finally to Oswalt in 1982 to remain. After returning to
Oklahoma, Mr. Griffin was custodian at the Greenville School for a number of
years, retiring as head custodian from the First Baptist Church in Ardmore. He
had also served as pastor at several churches in the area and also served as an
evangelist.

Survivors include two daughters, Janie Pollard of Medford, Oregon and Diane
Holcomb of Prospect, Oregon; an adopted daughter, Kimberly Murray of Oswalt;
three son, Mark Griffin of Trail Oregon, Keith Griffin of Ronan, Montana and
Billy Griffin of Butte Falls, Oregon; two sisters, Hazel Lynch of Mineral
Wells, Texas and Lorene Sewell of Golden Dale, Washington; a brother, Edward
"Duke" Griffin of Roseville, California; 20 grandchildren; 37 great-
grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Griffin was also preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Ellison on March
26, 2002, in the same accident; and two sons, Jerry and David Griffin.

Pallbearers were Larry Griffin, Lance Griffin, Christopher Holland, David
Holcomb, Kevin Murray and Ron Cormany.

Interment was in the Oswalt Cemetery, under the direction of Alexander Funeral
Home, Wilson.

                             Lillie Buckhanon

Services for Lillie Buckhanon, 97, were Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the Leon
Baptist Church. Officiating was Rev. Dwight Hawkins with a eulogy by Terry
Hyman.

Born June 12, 1901, at Bulcher, Texas, Mrs. Buckhanon died March 8, 1999, in
Lake Country Manor Nursing Home, Marietta. She was the daughter of Henry and
Mary Montgomery Hyman.

A resident of Leon most of her life, she married Bill Buckhanon on July 6,
1924, at Leon. Mrs. Buckhanon was a housewife and a member of the Leon Baptist
Church.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Calvin and Georgie Belle
Buckhanon of Falconhead; a daughter and son-in-law, Odessa and Pete Hunt of
Overbrook; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Hazel Hyman of Rubottom;
three sisters, Velma Reed of Rubottom, Faber Melson of Itasca, Texas, and
Stella Flatt of White Settlement, Texas; a sister-in-law, Leona Hyman of Leon;
13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Buckhanon was preceded in death by her husband on March 21, 1955; a
brother, two sisters, a grandson and a great-granddaughter.

Interment was in the Leon Cemetery directed by Kennedy Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Arthur Buckhanon, Carol Gilbert, Jimmy Gilbert, Thurman Lynn
Gilbert, Ricky Gilbert and Kenneth Gilbert. Honorary bearers were great-
grandsons and Marion Gilbert.

                        Lufern Bearden Young

Services for Lufern Bearden Young, 66, of Thackerville, were held at 3 p.m.,
Monday, January 7, in the Thackerville Community Church of Christ, with Bro.
Murray McMurray officiating.

Mrs. Young was born July 12, 1935, at Marietta, the daughter of Cecil and
Jewell Pearson Bearden. She died Friday, January 4, 2002, at her home.

Mrs. Young had made her home in the Thackerville area most of her life. She and
Charles A. Young were married March 24, 1951, in Ardmore. She attended school
at Thackerville. A homemaker, Mrs. Young was a member of the Thackerville
Community Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, Charles A. Young of the home; two sons and
daughters-in-law, Bobby Allen and Joanna Young and Joe Don and Sue Young of
Thackerville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie Lou and Carl Alford of
Justin, Texas, and Charlyn Sue and Bobby Scott of Thackerville; eight
grandchildren, Tracie Alford, Chuck Scott, Jodie Young, Jacie Young, Justin
Young, Dustin Scott, Amber Young and Chase Scott; and two great-grandchildren,
Ryan Scott and Jessica Scott.

Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her parents.

Serving as pallbearers were grandchildren, Tracie Alford, Chuck Scott, Jodie
Young, Jacie Young, Justin Young, Dustin Scott, Amber Young and Chase Scott.

Interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Thackerville, under the direction of
Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.

                        Laura Cecile Hodgson

Graveside services for Laura Cecile Hodgson, 97, of Ardmore were Saturday at
2:00 p.m. in Lakeview Cemetery. Officiating was Rev. Paul McDowell.

Born November 15, 1902, at Dexter, Texas, Mrs. Hodgson died December 17, 1999,
in an Ardmore hospital. She was the daughter of George Andrew and Mattie
Elizabeth McDaniel Copeland.

Mrs. Hodgson grew up in Loves Valley and attended school there. She obtained a
life teaching certificate from Southeastern State Teachers College and taught
elementary school in Love County for nine years.

She is survived by a daughter, Vel Perry of Stillwater; a brother, Claude
Copeland of Salem, Oregon; four granddaughters, Michele Panick of Edmond,
Marilyn Berry of Cashion, Robyn Coe of Glendale, California, and Rebecca Perry
of Alameda, California; seven great-greandchildren, Matthew, Chad and Brett
Berry of Cashion, Chris Panick of Edmond, Michele Elliott of Edmond, and Wyatt
and Laura Coe of Glendale.

Mrs. Hodgson was preceded in death by a son, Maurice Lamont Hodgson; and nine
brothers and sisters.

Services were under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home, Ardmore.

                        Loyd D. Whatley

Services for Loyd D. Whatley, 43, of Ardmore were Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in
Marietta's First Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy May officiating.

Born April 9, 1956, at Ringling, Mr. Whatley died July 18, 1999, in Mercy
Memorial Health Center, Ardmore. He was the son of Loyal H. and Louise Jones
Whatley.

Mr. Whatley had lived in Ardmore for the past year, moving there from Marietta.
He married Jerita Redwine on June 11, 1999, in Marietta. A 1974 graduate of
Marietta High School, Mr. Whatley had been a tire builder at Uniroyal for 25
years. He enjoyed fishing and was of the Pentecostal faith.

He is survived by his parents, Loyal H. and Louise Whatley of Marietta; his
wife, Jerita Whatley of the home; a daughter, Nikki Whatley of the home; a
stepson, Robert Bartee of Pasadena, Texas; a stepdaughter, Nickie Lynn Bartee
of Ardmore; a brother, Gary Whatley of Marietta; a sister, Deleta Minyard of
Marietta; and two nephews, Cody Minyard and Toby Ringwald.

Arrangements were directed by Kennedy Funeral Home with interment in Lakeview
Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Roger Mayes, Mike Wilson, Carey England,
Robert Bartee, Jerry Don Stewart and Jay Barrick. Honorary bearers included
Steve Smith, Jerry Allison, John Rouse, Shawn Mote, Steve Vaughn and Cody
Minyard.

                        Letha E. Hawkins

Services for Letha E. Hawkins, 82, of Leon were Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the
Rubottom Baptist Church. Officiating were Rev. Mike Williams and Rev. Jimmy
May.

Born February 25, 1917, at Gotebo, the daughter of Charles and Laura Leonard
Eskew, Mrs. Hawkins died November 8, 1999, at Mercy Health Love County,
Marietta.

Mrs. Hawkins had lived in Love County since 1971. She and Rev. Arvel C. Hawkins
were married November 11, 1933, at Gotebo. Mrs. Hawkins was a pastor's wife and
a homemaker. She was a member of the Rubottom Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Rosy Hawkins of
Leon and Rev. Dwight and Judy Hawkins of Ratliff City; two daughters and sons-
in-law, Wilda and Irwin Clayton of Blanchard and Joyce and Jack Daugherty of
Muskogee; 14 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and one great-great-
grandchild.

Mrs. Hawkins was preceded in death by her husband on July 30, 1975; six
brothers and three sisters.

Interment was in the Leon Cemetery directed to Kennedy Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Dale Richardson, Mike Parker, Paul Hallum, Vernie Thompson,
Alvie Reed and Rob Robertson. Honorary bearers were Oscar Williams, R.B.
Romines, Dallas Taliaferro, Jr., Bill Gipson and Woodrow Kendall.

                        Lela Edith Webb Frakes

Services for Lela Edith "Edy" Webb Frakes, 80, of Overbrook, were held at 2
p.m. Wednesday, July 11, at Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Ardmore, with Dr.
Alton Fannin officiating.

Mrs. Frakes was born October 23, 1920, on the family farm west of Overbrook,
the daughter of G.L. and Cora Webb. She died Sunday, July 8, 2001, at her
residence. She had battled a series of strokes over the past several years, but
failed to recover from a final attack in June.

Mrs. Frakes graduated from Plainview High School in 1939 and worked as a beauty
operator for Mrs. Vineyard's Beauty Shop in Ardmore. She and James Kennith
Frakes of Ardmore were married June 16, 1942. The couple moved frequently due
to work. They retired from their own seismic exploration business (Frakes
Exploration) in 1986 and returned to live on Mrs. Frakes' childhood farmland.
They spent 20 years in Tulsa, where her sons graduated from high school, and
where she was a member of the Gamma Epsilon chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha, a
national service sorority. She was a lifelong Southern Baptist and attended
Marsden Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth L. and
Fran Frakes of Tulsa and Ronald G. and Pat Frakes of Broken Arrow; four
grandchildren, Amber Frakes, Lee Frakes, Travis Frakes and Jackie Reese of the
Tulsa area; and five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Frakes was preceded in death by two sisters, Ava and Eva, and a brother,
Riley, all of the Love/Carter County area.

Interment was in Hillcrest Memorial Park, under the direction of Griffin
Funeral Home.

                        L. G. Muncy

Services for L.G. Muncy, 79, of Marietta, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday,
February 21, in the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tony Caro
officiating.

Mr. Muncy was born June 11, 1921, in Belcherville, Texas, the son of Leonard
Guy and Thelma Carpenter Muncy. He died Saturday, February 17, 2001, in Mercy
Memorial Health Center, Ardmore.

He had lived in Love County since 1971, moving here from Comanche, Texas. He
and Ruby Barber were married in Irving, Texas, on July 5, 1975. Mr. Muncy
worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 34 years and retired as the Marietta Agent
in 1983. He also was in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in the
Medics, and was awarded the Bronze Star, the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, the
American Theater Service Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.

Mr. Muncy also worked at Cochran's Hardware in Marietta for four years. He
enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family and playing practical jokes. Mr.
Muncy was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan, a member of the Elks Lodge and the
Pearl Street Church of Christ in Comanche.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Muncy of the home; two sons, Guy Muncy of
Waco, Texas, and Ted Self of Palm Springs, California; four daughters, Sherian
Turner of Irving, Linda Shaffer of Arlington, Texas, Judy Gentry of Ardmore,
and Barbara Boswell of Stillwater; a brother, Jerry Muncy of Fort Worth, Texas;
two sisters, Evelyn Keith of Fort Worth and Leona Martin of Copperas Cove,
Texas; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Muncy was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Martha Muncy;
and a brother, Bill Muncy.

Serving as pallbearers were grandsons, Brian Ford, Randy Sullivan, Tony Gentry,
Dewayne Pickens, Dale Lyons and Brandon Pulliam. Honorary pallbearers were
Fletcher Coble, Jerry Kerr, Perry Peterson and all other "coffee buddies."

Interment was in the Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, under the direction of
Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.

                        Leona Helen Anderson

Services for Leona "Helen" Anderson, 70, of Marietta, were held at 11 a.m.
Thursday, September 13, in the First Baptist Church, Marietta, with Pastor
Lawrence Anderson officiating. Tribute services were held at 6:30 p.m.,
Wednesday, September 12, at the New Zion Baptist Church, Marietta.

Mrs. Anderson was born December 8, 1930, in Burneyville, the daughter of
Clarence and Minnie L. Jenkins Anderson. She died Monday, September 10, 2001,
in Mercy Memorial Health Center, Ardmore.

Mrs. Anderson had been a resident of Love County all of her life. She attended
Dunbar School at Burneyville then Douglass School in Marietta. Mrs. Anderson
was a machine operator at Marietta Sportswear and retired after many years of
employment. She was also a caretaker of the elderly. Mrs. Anderson was a
lifelong usher and WMU member at the New Zion Baptist Church.

Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Milton "Bo" and Doris Dailey
and Lawrence and Peggy Anderson of Marietta, Willie and Patsy Anderson of
Midwest City and Chirs and Donna Anderson of Norman; two daughters and a son-
in-law, Patricia Kelley of Midwest City and Yvonne and Henry Giles of Dallas,
Texas; five sisters, Willie Woodson and Maxine Brown of Dallas, Marqueta Gaines
of Burneyville, Mae Lois Fuller of Ardmore and Billie Glover of Spencer; 16
grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Teresa
Anderson; a son, Bobby Anderson; two sisters, Ella Anderson and Clearice King;
and six brothers, Thomas Anderson, Harding Anderson, Rhea Anderson, Alchester
Anderson, Clarence Anderson Jr. and Truman Anderson.

Serving as pallbearers were Kim Kelley, Lewis Jones, Bryan Dailey, Reggie
Anderson, Larry Gaines and Roy Gaines. Honorary pallbearers were the Rev.
Kenneth Franklin, Bro. Ninevah Franklin, James M. Franklin, the Rev. Charles
Franklin, Tim Milo, Verl LeFlore, Donald Fuller and Steve Fuller. Flower girls
were Monesha Dailey, Lashelle Halstied, Liz Milo, Wilnesha Anderson, Jeanna
Washington, Deanna Davis, Marneta Dorsey, Debbie Gaines and Lula Finch.

Interment was in Dunbar Cemetery, Marietta, under the direction of Flanagan-
Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.

                        Larry Leroy Craft

Graveside services for Larry Leroy Craft, 56, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday,
April 21, at Lakeview Cemetery in Marietta with Pastor Darrell Henson of Edmond
officiating.

Mr. Craft was born September 5, 1944, at Thackerville, the son of Harry Lee and
Ellen Geneva Sampson Craft. He died Tuesday, April 17, 2001, in Presbyterian
Hospital in Oklahoma City.

A resident of the Oklahoma City area for the past 10 years, Mr. Crafat had
previously lived in Thackerville for five years. He was employed as a pump
truck driver for Crossland's A & A Rental. Mr. Craft was married to the former
Bonnie P. Horton. A lover of animals and the outdoors, he especially enjoyed
horse racing. Mr. Craft was of the Protestant faith.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Craft of the home; his mother, Geneva Webb
of Oklahoma City; two daughters, Rhonda Craft of Oklahoma City and Kelly Craft
of California; a stepson, Noah Martin of Houston, Texas; a stepdaughter, Tami
Martin of Houston; a sister, Judy Spradling of Norman; three brothers, Bill
Craft of Evans, Louisiana, Roger Craft of Round Rock, Texas, and Paul Webb of
Yukon; and three grandchildren, Katlynn Craft and Amanda Craft, twins, and
Aaron Craft.

Mr. Craft was preceded in death by his father, Lee Craft; a stepson, Russell
Martin; and stepfather, Paul E. Webb.

Pallbearers were John Spradling, Roger Craft, Dalton Spradling, Charles Rhea,
Joseph Webb, Billy Wayne Craft and Dan Taylor.

Services were under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.

                        Lester Lee Lanier

Services for Lester Lee Lanier, 68, of Marietta, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday,
January 8, at Marietta's Church of Christ, with Bro. Cole Tidwell and Bro.
Floyd Johnson officiating.

Mr. Lanier was born September 1, 1933, at Palestine, Texas, the son of Davis
Monroe and Amanda Maude Huntsburger Lanier. He died Saturday, January 5, 2002,
at his home.

Mr. Lanier had made his home in Love County since 1995. He and Jimmie L. Lemons
were married July 2, 1966, in Marietta. Mr. Lanier attended Woodhouse
Elementary, Winnsboro Elementary and graduated in 1952 from high school in
Winnsboro, Texas. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1956, during the
Korean Conflict, and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the
WWII Occupational Medal - Germany.

Mr. Lanier attended Tyler Junior College and graduated from East Texas State
University, Commerce, in 1961. He was honored as East Texas Baseball Coach of
the Year and also named to the Texas Baseball Hall of Fame. As a teacher and
coach, Mr. Lanier was head coach of boys and girls basketball, baseball, golf,
tennis and track, and junior high and freshman football. He also was athletic
director, assistant high school principal, and liaison officer for juveniles of
Henderson County, Texas. Mr. Lanier attended the Church of Christ in Lebanon.

Survivors include his wife, Jimmie L. Lanier of the home; two sons and a
daughter-in-law, MSgt. Orville Hugh (USAF) and Lisa Lanier of Wichita, Kansas,
and Casey Lee Lanier and fiancee Jennefer Dixon of Ada; a daughter and son-in-
law, Tomi Ann "Angel" and J.R. Shaw of Weatherford, Texas; two surrogate
daughters and sons-in-law, Ora Lou and Joe Fincher of Marietta and Jaynie Lynn
and David Gores of Lone Grove; a brother, Lonnie Lanier of Winnsboro; a sister,
Laura Loraine "Billie" Tharp of Winnsboro; four grandchildren; and many nieces
and nephews.

Mr. Lanier was preceded in death by his parents; and his twin brother, Leslie
Leland Lanier.

Pallbearers were Tom Williams, Scott Williams, Paul Jordan, Lyn Vest, James
Mills, Scott McCurley, Stan McCurley and Tim Sherman. Honorary pallbearers were
all of his beloved players and students.

Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, with military honors, under the
direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.

The family has requested that donations be made to the Lee Lanier Baseball
Scholarship Fund c/o Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, 100 East Main, Marietta, OK
73448.

                        Leona L. Slater

No services are planned for Leona L. Lee Slater of Thackerville who died June
25, 1999, at her residence at the age of 55.

Mrs. Slater was born October 27, 1943, in Los Angeles, California, the daughter
of Herbert and Lucille Welding Terrill. A homemaker, Mrs. Slater had lived at
Thackerville the past 11 years moving there from Georgia. She and Walter Slater
were married September 11, 1965, in Atlanta, Georgia. She was of the Catholic
faith.

Survivors include her husband, Walter Slater of the home; mother, Mrs. Lucille
McCage of Thackerville; a son, Clifford Slater of Thackerville; a daughter,
Leigh Brackett of Buford, Georgia; three brothers, Duane Terrill of Santa
Barbara, California, Ronnie Terrill of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Carey Terrill of
Redding, California, and three grandchildren.

Arrangements were by Kennedy Funeral Home.

                        Leona Mae Allen

Services for Leona Mae Allen, 90, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 4, at
Watts Memorial Chapel, Madill, with Ken Pate officiating.

Mrs. Allen was born July 3, 1911, at Altus, the daughter of Lee Coleman and
Mary Ann Hall. She died Saturday, September 1, 2001.

When Mrs. Allen was three months old, the family of five boys and two girls
moved to Bartlesville, where she was raised. She and Henry Walter Allen Jr.
were married August 11, 1935, in Tulsa, and he preceded her in death. The
couple moved to the Allen home place in Laverne, where Mr. Allen was raised, to
work the farm. Jaqueline Joan Allen was born April 25, 1936, and Henry Walter
Allen III was born January 19, 1939. The family moved to Oregon in 1945 where
they stayed for a year and then returned to Oklahoma, choosing Ponca City as
their home. They moved to Enid in 1949 and remained there for 25 years. Mr.
Allen retired and they moved to Lake Murray Village until two years ago when
Mrs. Allen moved to Lexington to live with her son and daughter-in-law.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Walt and Diane Allen of Lexington;
a daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Bill Tinneman of Yukon; four grandchildren,
Tim Tinneman of Oklahoma City, Tom Tinneman of Blanchard, Brett Allen of
Owasso, and Brenda Royals of Harvey, Louisiana; and four great-grandchildren,
Tawny Tinneman, Kylee Tinneman, Courtney Allen and Dalton Royals.

Mrs. Allen was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers were Tim Tinneman, Tom Tinneman, Brett Allen, Kirk Karrenbrock,
Drew Royals, Gary Jackson and David Horton.

Interment was in Woodberry-Forest Cemetery, under the direction of Watts
Funeral Home, Madill.

Graveside services for Lonnie Murrel "Bidder" Foster, 50, of Thackerville, were

Mr. Foster was born May 18, 1951, in Thackerville, the son of Ed F. "Coot" and
Elsa E. Verlinden Foster. He died Wednesday, November 28, 2001, at his
residence.

A resident of Love County most of his life, Mr. Foster was employed as a State
Park attendant at the I-35 Rest Area near Thackerville. He was married to the
former Rita L. Mills. A graduate of Thackerville High School, Mr. Foster
attended the First Baptist Church at Thackerville.

Survivors include his wife, Rita Foster of the home; his mother, Elsa Foster of
Marietta; a son, David Cave of Greenville; two daughters, Tina Hickman of
Greenville and Dana Frazier of Thackerville; a brother, Eddy Foster of
Whitesboro, Texas; three sisters, Anita Wasden of Arlington, Texas, Terry
Faulkenberry of Marietta and Robin Sorrell of Gainesville, Texas; eight
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mr. Foster was preceded in death by his father, Ed. F. "Coot" Foster, on May
26, 2001; a grandson, James Cummins; and a nephew, Kenny Gaskins.

Pallbearers were Charles Thompson, David Dewbre, Michael Dewbre, Jerimiah
Cummins, Royce Petty and Bunky Lemons. Honorary pallbearers were David Sconce,
Carl Ellis, David Wasden, Jerry Putnam and Damon Frazier.

Services for Leonard Reynolds, 80, of Rubottom were held at 3 p.m., Friday,

Mr. Reynolds was born February 27, 1921, at Grady, the son of Lee and Eula
Davidson Reynolds. He died Wednesday, January 23, 2002, in the Mercy Health
Love County, Marietta.

A resident of the Courtney and Rubottom area most of his life, Mr. Reynolds was
a farmer and rancher. He and Wilma Parson were married June 27, 1941, at Orr.
Mr. Reynolds was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Ringling.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Wilma of the home; a son and daughter-
in-law, Arnold and Mavis Reynolds of Ardmore; two daughters and sons-in-law,
Lyndia and Jim McCall of Arlington, Texas, and Janice and Mike Wisdom of
Dallas; four brothers; four sisters; six grandchildren, Brian Reynolds,
Michelle Brown, Wayne Hovend, Wendy Kirkland, Gary Burns and Shawn Murrah; nine
great-grandchildren; and friends of the family, Tommy, Trina, Weldon and James
Lee of Rubottom.

Mr. Reynolds was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Serving as pallbearers were grandsons and grandsons-in-law, Brian Reynolds,
Lance Brown, Wayne Hovend, Dennis Kirkland, Gary Burns and Randall Murrah.

Honorary pallbearers were R.B. Romines, Leroy Romines, Houston Love, Tommy Lee

Services for Luetta Sims, 92, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Southwest Baptist

Cemetery, Marietta.

Mrs. Sims died June 30, 1998, at Beaver. She was born April 14, 1906, at
Enville, Indian Territory, to Thomas A. and Effie Jones Overstreet.

She married Cliff Harris Sept. 9, 1921. He preceded her in death in 1951. She
and W.R. "Bill" Sims were married Aug. 7, 1954. He died in 1979. She was a
homemaker.

Survivors include three daughters, Louise Webb, Idabel, Vonquitta Taylor,
Beaver, and LaWanna McKinney, Mill Creek; eight grandchildren; 17 great-
grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by
a son, Leon Harris; two sisters; and a brother.

Ms. Reed was born May 26, 1946, at Collinsville, Texas, the daughter of Chester
and Era Lee Roberts Reed. She died Sunday, December 23, 2001.

Ms. Reed had lived in the Thackerville area most of her life and graduated from
Thackerville High School in 1964. She was a homemaker and a member of the
Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post No. 1922 in Gainesville, Texas.

Survivors include her mother, Era Lee Reed of Thackerville; two sons, Franklin
Edward Sparkman of Saint Jo, Texas, and Brandon Abraham Sampson of the home; a
daughter, Sheila Beth Taylor of Thackerville; seven brothers, Gilbert Reed of
Kingston, Byron Reed, Gary Reed, Steven Reed, Anthony Reed and Timothy Reed of
Thackerville and Lonnie Reed of Gainesville; three sisters, Virginia
Kretzschmar, Judy Tabler and Sherry Milam of Thackerville; two grandchildren,
Christopher and Justin; two step-grandchildren, Frank and Cynthia; and numerous
nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and friends.

Ms. Reed was preceded in death by her father, Chester Byron Reed, on January
29, 1998; a brother, Randall S. Reed, on April 8, 1998; and a grandson, Stephen
Blake Sparkman.

Services for Lucrica (Scott) Valeri, 51, of Ardmore, were held at 11 a.m.,
Monday, January 28, at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Ardmore, with Father

Mrs. Valeri was born March 14, 1950, at Ardmore, the daughter of Hershel and
Monsella Tabler Thompson. She died Thursday, January 24, 2002, at her residence
at Ardmore.

She was a 1968 graduate of Marietta High School. Mrs. Valeri lived and worked
in Marietta as a beautician for several years. She had currently lived in the
Ardmore area since 1990. Mrs. Valeri pursued a degree in education at
Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Durant, and in 1991, received a master
in education degree. She then taught special education in the Ardmore School
System. After leaving the Ardmore School System, Mrs. Valeri went to work for a
State College teaching job advancement. She and Roberto "Bobby" Valeri were
married October 8, 1999, at Gainesville, Texas. She was of the Catholic
religion.

Survivors include her mother, Monsella "Pru" Husband of Thackerville; her
husband, Robert "Bobby" Valeri of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Marshall
and Michelle Scott of Norman; a brother, James Thompson of Thackerville; and a
sister, Pamela Gibbs of Ardmore.

Mrs. Valeri was preceded in death by her grandmother, Florence Tabler in 1997.

Pallbearers were Jim Wood, Scotty Wood, Brent Elliott, Brad Elliott, Wendell
Elliott and Ken Claxton. Honorary pallbearer was Z.A. Valeri.

Mrs. Jordan was born September 25, 1911, in Cooke County, Texas, the daughter
of Floyd and Laura Graham Shout. She died Friday, August 24, 2001, in Mercy
Health Love County in Marietta.

Mrs. Jordan had lived in Love County most of her life. She and Porter W. Jordan
were married in Marietta August 14, 1926, and he preceded her in death October
1, 2000. A homemaker, Mrs. Jordan was a member of the Marietta Church of
Christ.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Fran and Ralph Watkins of
the home, Patsy Watson of Fort Worth, Texas, and Judy and Charles Shinn of San
Antonio, Texas; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Jordan was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Porter Dale
Jordan on October 9, 1989; and two sisters, Vesta Northcutt and Eunice Sawyer.

Pallbearers were David McGehee, Tim Hicks, Joe Davis, Gary Labeth, Vance Parr

Mrs. Cavitt was born September 8, 1945, in Marietta, the daughter of George
Austin and Effie Lorene Walker Hearrell. She died Wednesday, February 13, 2002,
in Mercy Health Love County.

Mrs. Cavitt had been a resident of Love County all of her life. She and Bobby
G. Cavitt were married October 9, 1978, in Gainesville, Texas, and he preceded
her in death on April 7, 1998. A Certified Nurse Aide, Mrs. Cavitt had been
employed at Lake Country Manor Nursing Home in Marietta for many years. She was
a member of Marietta's First Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Landon Len and Danna Gregg of
Wylie, Texas; three daughters and sons-in-law, Melinda and Donald Pitts of
Marietta, Melanie and Darrell Maggard of Thackerville, and Hattie Klein of
Healdton; a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Martha Hearrell of Marietta;
a special cousin, Imogene Palmer of Leon; eight grandchildren, Kecia Pitts,
Jimmy Pitts, Markus Pitts, Bo Pershica, Crystal Maggard, Kaci Maggard, Awstin
Gregg and Alex Gregg; three step-grandchildren, David McMahon, Lucas McMahon
and Amanda McMahon; and four great-grandchildren, Tony James, Kayla Loveday,
Seth Pitts and Payton Pitts.

Mrs. Cavitt was also preceded in death by her parents; and an infant twin
brother and sister.

Mrs. White was born March 18, 1926, at Soper, the daughter of Henry and Etha
Flanagan, and died July 18, 1999, in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta, at the
age of 73.

Mrs. White, a resident of Love County since 1967, was a homemaker and a member
of the Eastside Baptist Church. She and Bob White were married July 28, 1945,
in Littlefield, Texas.

Survivors include her husband, Bob White of the home; two daughters and son-in-
law, Carol Ingram of Vega, Texas, and Sherry and Keith Hallum of Marietta;
three brothers, Ray Flanagan of Comanche, Curtis Flanagan of Gainesville,
Texas, and Clayton Flanagan of Lewisville, Texas; three sisters, Thelma Willard
of Burneyville, Betty Vanlandingham of Arlington, Texas, and Norma George of
Denton, Texas; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. White was preceded in death by two sons, Keith Alan White on May 29, 1994,

                        Murray Billingsley

Services for Murray Billingsley, 90, were Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the Church

Born July 21, 1909, at Marietta, Mr. Billingsley died November 2, 1999, at his
residence in Marietta. He was the son of Robert E. Lee and Alma Stansbury
Billingsley.

Mr. Billingsley had lived at Marietta and in Love County all of his life. He
and Floy Murrell were married on June 6, 1936, at Gainesville, Texas. Mr.
Billingsley owned and operated the Marietta Bakery for 25 years before working
for the Little Brownie Cookie Shop where he retired in 1974. He was a member of
the Church of Christ of Marietta and served as a church elder for 39 years.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Sam and Mary Sue Billingsley
of Searcy, Arkansas; two sisters, Linnie Pearl Shobe and Katherine Walker of
Gainesville; five grandchildren, David Durrill, Danny Durrill, Scott
Billingsley, Susan Billingsley and Sara Billingsley; and four great-
grandchildren, Sam Durrill, Laura Durrill, Molly Durrill and Evan Durrill.

Mr. Billingsley was preceded in death by his wife on August 5, 1995; a
daughter, Barbara I. Cleek on September 14, 1988; and four brothers, Sam
Billingsley, Warren Billingsley, Fred Billingsley and Gene Billingsley.

                        Martha Blankenship

Graveside services for Martha Blankenship of Rubottom were conducted Monday at
11:00 a.m. in the Rubottom Cemetery. Officiating was Rev. Jimmy May.

Born December 22, 1929, at Leon, the daughter of Alfred and Audrey Caruthers
Washington, Mrs. Blankenship died October 29, 1999, in the Healdton Hospital at
the age of 69.

A resident of Love County and Carter County most of her life, she married Billy
Ray Blankenship on April 28, 1951, at Gainesville, Texas. Mrs. Blankenship
retired after 18 years as an office manager for Dick Washington Plumbing in
Ardmore. She was a member of Eastern Star and of the Church of Christ faith.

Survivors include her husband, Billy Ray Blankenship of the home; a son and
daughter-in-law, Alan and Julie Blankenship of Oklahoma City; a daughter-in-
law, Sandy Blankenship of Rubottom; two brothers, James Washington and Noble
Washington of California; three sisters, Fleeda Pitts of Bakersfield,
California, Edith Jo Stephenson of Nipomo, California, and Jean Ellen Stimac of
Crescent City, Texas; and three grandsons, Tommy Blankenship, Zachary
Blankenship and Aaron Blankenship.

Mrs. Blankenship was preceded in death by a son, Dennis R. Blankenship on
September 26, 1993; and a granddaughter, Karen L. Blankenship on May 18, 1991.

Mrs. Butler was born July 11, 1919, at Thackerville, the daughter of J.D. and
Mamie Brown Wiseman. She died Thursday, October 19, 2000, at her residence in
Roanoke.

A member of Roanoke First Baptist Church, Mrs. Butler retired as a dental
assistant. She was also a dorm mother at the old Cooke County Junior College in
Gainesville.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Jane Butler of
Oklahoma City; three daughters and sons-in-law, Charleen Bacon of Euless,
Texas, Lou and John Nelson of Roanoke, and Judy and Glen Denny of Carrollton,
Texas; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Butler was preceded in death by her parents, J.D. and Mamie Wiseman; one
son, William E. Butler; and one daughter, Penny Ventura.

                        Ethel McCain Fields

Services for Ethel McCain Fields were September 17 at 1:00 p.m. in Mt. Zion
Baptist Church with Rev. Emmitt Jones and Rev. Lawrence Anderson officiating.

Born July 6, 1914, at Ran, Mrs. Fields died September 11, 1999, in an area
hospital following an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late James
Ervin and Eula Young McCain. Mrs. Fields was a longtime member of Mt. Zion
Baptist Church where she served as Church Clerk and on the Mothers' Board. Her
husband, James Fields, Sr., preceded her in death in December 1979.

She is survived by a son, Claudell Fields of Ardmore; three daughters, Peggy
Purvey of Ardmore, Charlesetta Newberry of Oklahoma City and Lillie Anderson of
Lawton; 25 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren and several great-great-
grandchildren.

Mrs. Fields was also preceded in death by a son, James Fields, Jr., in June
1984.

Interment in Prairie View Cemetery was directed by Kirk-Dawson-Dillard Funeral
Home, Ardmore. Active casket bearers were Vincent Purvey, Victor Fields, Carl
Fields, Eric Fields, Abraham Kerns and Charles Green. Honorary bearers were
grandsons, Frank Purvey, Robert Purvey, Willie Fields, Wendell Fields, Darryl
Fields, Gerald Fields, Barry Kerns, Chris Cox and Shannon Black-Cox.

                        Melvin Clark

Graveside services for Melvin Clark, 83, of Marietta, were held at 10 a.m.,

Mr. Clark was born August 7, 1918, in Enville, the son of John Walter and Bular
Mae Gilbert Clark. He died Saturday, November 17, 2001, at his residence.

Mr. Clark had been a resident of Love County all of his life. He was a laborer,
working in construction and as a farmer. Mr. Clark served in the U.S. Army
during both World War II and the Korean Conflict and was awarded the EAME
Campaign Medal with five Bronze Stars, three Overseas Service Bars, the Good
Conduct Medal and the Korean Service Medal with five Bronze Stars. He was of
the Baptist faith.

Survivors include four brothers, Rusty Clark of Whitesboro, Texas, Charles
Clark and Wayne Clark of Thackerville, and Carl Clark of Gainesville, Texas;
and five sisters, Mina Adams of Enville, Ruth Calvert and Viola Sconce of
Thackerville, Ivarine Walker of Montgomery, Alabama, and Judy Shell of
Gainesville.

Mr. Clark was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Raymond Clark and
Jack Clark; two sisters, Betty Swann and Iola Harp; and a half-sister, Pearl
Burchfield.

Services for Meril Dean Heiderich, 60, of Burneyville, were held at 2 p.m.
Wednesday, June 6, at Burneyville Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Gunnels

Mrs. Heiderich was born November 28, 1940, at Mill Creek, the daughter of
Beacher and Mary Richardson McCartney. She died Sunday, June 3, 2001, in Mercy
Memorial Health Center in Ardmore.

Mrs. Heiderich was a homemaker and had been a resident of Love County most of
her life, previously making her home in Carter County. She and Donnie Heiderich
were married May 15, 1967, at Marsden. Mrs. Heiderich attended school at Lone
Grove and was a member of the Eastman Baptist Church. She enjoyed her home,
animals, flowers and fishing, and dearly loved her family.

Survivors include her husband, Donnie Heiderich of the home; her mother, Mary
McCartney of Cheek; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Garvin Milliken of
Burneyville and Neil and Beverly Milliken of Wilson; a daughter and son-in-law,
Donna (Sissy) and Robby Coyle of Burneyville; two brothers, Bill McCartney of
Cheek and Gilbert McCartney of Healdton; five sisters, Christine Banks and
Tammy Graham of Overbrook, Evelyn Thompson of Marietta, LaWanda Guy of Everman,
Texas, and Rosia Graves of Mesquite, Texas; a grandson, Josh Milliken of the
home, and five other grandchildren.

Mrs. Heiderich was preceded in death by her father, Beacher McCartney, in 2000;

Mrs. Davis was born February 17, 1926, at Jacksonville, Arkansas, the daughter
of Arthur and Myrtle (Keller) Hamilton. She died Monday, March 5, 2001, at her
home in Courtney.

She was married to Robert "Bob" Davis in September 1988 in Gainesville, Texas.
Mrs. Davis moved to Courtney from North Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1997.

Survivors include her husband, Bob of the home; a daughter and son-in-law,
Tootie and Johnny Dewbre of Courtney; a son, Randy Hudelson of North Little
Rock; five step-children, Woody and Karla Davis of Kansas City, Missouri, David
Davis, Lee and Debbie Davis and Michael and Peggy Davis of Benton, Arkansas,
and Susan and Dewayne Rhodes of Bluffton, Arkansas; three brothers and sisters-
in-law, Charlie and Gladys Hamilton of Lone Oake, Arkansas, J.W. and Betty
Hamilton of North Little Rock and Dewayne and Chris Hamilton of Gulfport,
Mississippi; two sisters, Margaret Cox of North Little Rock and Louise Smith of
Memphis, Tennessee; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

                        Mary Juanita Baldwin

No public services are planned for Mary Juanita Baldwin of Marietta who died
July 13, 1999, in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta, at the age of 88. She was
born November 26, 1910, at El Reno, the daughter of Francis Marion and Myrtle
Wooden Tims.

Mrs. Baldwin had lived in Marietta since 1972. She and Harold W. Baldwin were
married on April 10, 1927, at Newcastle, Wyoming. Mrs. Baldwin owned and
operated her own laundry and dry cleaning business. She was of the Episcopalian
faith.

Survivors are a daughter, Erna Lee Greene of Marietta; two grandsons, Philip
Geene of Houston, Texas, and Harold Greene of Marietta; and two great-
grandchildren, Philip Cody Greene and Jesi LeAnne Greene.

Mrs. Baldwin was preceded in death by her husband on October 29, 1965; her
parents; and a brother, Cecil Tims.

Arrangements were by Kennedy Funeral Home. Interment was in the Lusk Cemetery,
Lusk, Wyoming.

Services for Marcena J. Wagner, 64, of Marietta, will be held at 10:30 a.m.
today (Friday), January 25, at Eastside Baptist Church, Marietta, with the Rev.

Mrs. Wagner was born July 24, 1937, at Atlee, the daughter of John W. and
Louise Brockriede Allen. She died Tuesday, January 22, 2002, in the Denton
Regional Medical Center, Denton, Texas.

A 1955 graduate of Marietta High School, Mrs. Wagner made her home in Ohio for
several years, returning to Marietta in 1963 to make her home. She and Clarence
Wagner were married December 18, 1957, at Eastside Baptist Church in Marietta.
Mrs. Wagner had been employed as a bookkeeper at Murray Biscuit Company in
Marietta for the past 38 years. She was also involved in the Relay For Life
Cancer Drive in Love County. As an active member of the Eastside Baptist
Church, Mrs. Wagner also served as treasurer for the Sunday School Department.

Survivors include her husband, Clarence Wagner of the home; one daughter and
son-in-law, Melissa and Rod Shankles of Marietta; two brothers, Wilton Allen of
Marietta, and Paul Allen of Coahoma, Texas; one sister, Vida Robertson of
Marietta; two nephews and four nieces.

Mrs. Wagner was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Billy Joe
Allen in 1962.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Willis, Gene Rhoades, G.W. Flanagan, Bill Lard, Bud
Christian, Melvin Mayes and Steve Creecy.

Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, under the direction of

Services for Marie Louise Cooper Thornton, 94, of Marietta, will be held at 2
p.m. Friday, December 28, at Boze-Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Waxahachie,

Mrs. Thornton was born January 7, 1907, in Milford, Texas, the daughter of J.R.
and Clara Mantooth Vaughan. She died Sunday, December 23, 2001, in Mercy
Memorial Health Center in Ardmore.

Mrs. Thornton had made her home in Love County for the past six years. She was
a retired seamstress for Haggar Slacks. She was married to Gene Cooper for 49
years, and he preceded her in death in 1974. She then was married to Dodson
Leon Thornton for 24 years, and he preceded her in death on March 14, 1999.
Mrs. Thornton was a member of Christ Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in Marietta.
Prior to moving to Oklahoma, she attended Southpark Assembly of God of
Waxahachie.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Pat Cooper of Frost,
Texas; four daughters and sons-in-law, Gay and Aubrey Pugh and Carolyn Warren
of Marietta, Bonnie and Lloyd Richard of Waxahachie and Joyce Stalter of
Dallas, Texas; a brother, James Vaughan of Paris, Texas; two sisters, Lorene
Dawson of Frost and Iva Gutherie of Rice, Texas; 15 grandchildren; 40 great-
grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous friends, nieces and
nephews.

Mrs. Thornton was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Imogene
Cooper; a granddaughter, Brenda Stalter; four brothers, Cecil Vaughan, Homer
Vaughan, Carl Vaughan and Richard Vaughan; and two sisters, Velma Cannon and
Sybil Vaughan.

Pallbearers are grandsons, Bobby Richard, Billy Richard, Silvano Rodriguez,
Gregg Newman, Jeff Langston, Ronald Simmons, Stanley Pendley Jr. and Gary

Survivors are the parents; twin sister, Challie Erin Sanker of North Richland
Hills; grandparents, Janie Pinkston of Fort Worth, Coet and Steve McPeek of
Clinton, Mississippi, and Karen Sanker of North Richland Hills; and great-
grandmother, Ruby Burkhart of Gainesville.

The infant was preceded in death by a brother, Turner Coleman Sanker on
November 24, 1997; grandfathers, Looney Coleman "Slim" Pinkston on October 26,

Services for Meda Mae Bonner, 102, of Marietta, were held at 11 a.m., Monday,
November 26, in the First Baptist Church in Marietta, with the Rev. Tommy Higle
officiating.

Mrs. Bonner was born December 25, 1898, the daughter of Lemuel Kirby and Emma
Bond Lockhart. She died Friday, November 23, 2001, at Lake Country Manor
Nursing Home in Marietta.

One of 11 children, Mrs. Bonner lived in Story, Arkansas, with her family. She
and Virgil J. Bonner were married June 17, 1915, and he preceded her in death
April 15, 1974, after almost 59 years of marriage. The Bonners moved to
Marietta in 1940. Mrs. Bonner was a homemaker and a member of Marietta' s First
Baptist Church and the Garden Club.

Survivors include a granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Margaret Anne and Robert
Ayres of Austin, Texas; two great-granddaughters, Kathleen Ayres and Elizabeth
Ayres of Austin; and several neices and nephews.

Mrs. Bonner was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Norman Lockhart
Bonner on October 16, 1957; six brothers and four sisters.

Pallbearers were Bob Ayres, Phil Willey, Herman Roberson, Lewis Foster, Wade
Moore and Bud Barnes. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Tom O'Connor and the nurses
and staff of Lake Country Manor Nursing Home.

Texas. She and James F. "Jim" Gibson were married in 1916 at Quanah, Texas. He
preceded her in death in 1980. Mrs. Gibson was a homemaker and was a member of
the Marietta Church of Christ. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and making
quilts. She also enjoyed growing flowers.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jimmie Ross and Nancy Gibson of
Waurika; a daughter, Eddie Jewel Hankins of Marietta; a sister, Gertrude Reagan
of Tulia, Texas; six grand-children, 16 great-grandchildren, and five great-
great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Gibson was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, infant Benita
June Gibson and Doris Tomlinson; one son, R. Lee Gibson; a brother, Ray Cofer;
two sisters, Mable O'Dell and Dolly Jameson; and two sons-in-law, Glen R.
Hankins and Reed Tomlinson.

were married September 16, 1947, in Gainesville, Texas. Mrs. Leake was a member
of the First United Methodist Church of Lake Jackson.

law, Linda and David Kesler of Lake Jackson; a son and daughter-in-law, Scott
and Judy Leake of San Antonio, Texas; four grandchildren, Ryan Kessler and his

San Antonio, Cyndi Leake of San Antonio; three sisters, Mildred Triplett of

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Patty Volk.

She and Willis LeRoy "Bear" McLaughlin were married September 3, 1937, in
Thackerville, and he preceded her in death on May 29, 1989. Mrs. McLaughlin was
a homemaker and a former longtime resident of Thackerville.

Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, LeRoy and Walsie McLaughlin
of Gainesville, Dwight and Marsha McLaughlin of Slidell, Texas, Gary and Sherry

                        Margaret Marie Riggs

Services for Margaret Marie Kemp Riggs, 86, of Marietta, were held at 1:30 p.m.
Wednesday, May 2, at Edgewood Church of God in Edgewood, Texas, with the Rev.
Kenneth Adams delivering the message, the Rev. John T. Allen reading the
eulogy, and the Rev. Cecil Westervelt reading the obituary.

Mrs. Riggs was born February 24, 1915, at Dallas, Texas, the daughter of Alfred
Ray and Lucille Kemp. She died Saturday, April 28, 2001, at Macomb, in the home
of her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Judi Riggs, with whom she had been
living for the past three months.

Mrs. Riggs had previously made her home in the Marietta & Bomar area for 27
years. She and Lloyd Orville "Bud" Riggs were married October 26, 1934, and he
preceded her in death on January 28, 1963. A graduate of Kemp High School in
Kemp, Texas, Mrs. Riggs was a homemaker and a retired floral designer. During
World War II she was a riveter in a bomb factory, but most of her life she was
a devoted homemaker, faithful wife and loving mother, grandmother and great-
grandmother.

Mrs. Riggs was a charter member of the Love County Historical Society and the
Busy Bees Group of the Love County Extension Homemakers Council. She also
enjoyed genealogy, flowers and books. Mrs. Riggs was a faithful Christian and
member of the Church of God for over 50 years. Since 1986 she had been a member
of the Pentecostal Holiness Church, most recently the Lighthouse Evangelistic
Ministries in Marietta.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Judi Riggs of
Macomb, Ray and Jeanette Riggs of Lexington, and Bill and LaDaria Riggs of
Marietta; a daughter and son-in-law, Carole and Warren Monday of Marietta; two
sisters, Pauline Clevenger of Edgewood and Dorothy Allen of Dallas; 12
grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Riggs was also preceded in death by her father in 1948; her mother in
1989; and a great-granddaughter, Randi Denise Monday.

Pallbearers were grandsons, James Monday, Dennis Monday, Jeremy Riggs, Kirk

Services for Maze "Cornbread" Parsons Jr., 62, of Thackerville, were held at 2

Mr. Parsons was born March 1, 1939, in Love County, the son of Vona Evans and

A resident of Love County most of his life, Mr. Parsons was retired from
construction, having worked as a heavy equipment operator. He was a 1957
graduate of Thackerville High School and a 32nd Degree Mason. Mr. Parsons
attended Christ Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in Marietta.

Survivors include the mother of his children, Sharon Kidd Prestage of
Gainesville, Texas; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Curtis Parsons of

Havre, Montana. He and Pat McGill were married in Marietta on February 25,
1966. Mr. Evans was manager of operations of Logistics/Ag Commodities for
Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad at the time of his death. He was a member
of the Northwood Baptist Church in Keller.

Survivors include his wife, Pat Evans of the home; his mother, Virginia Evans
of Marietta; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Rodney Evans of Little Rock,
Arkansas, Rick and Leah Evans of Kansas City, Missouri, and Nathan Evans of the
home; a daughter and son-in-law, Amber and Jonathan Rodriguez of North Richland
Hills, Texas; a brother and sister-in-law, Monty Jay and Vickie Evans of
Henrico, North Carolina; a sister, Kay Dunnavent of Marietta; and two
grandchildren, Chase and Carson.

Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his father, C.B. Evans Jr., on March 1,

                        Mary Ross Hall

Graveside services for Mary Ross Hall, 92, were held at 1 p.m. Friday, November
17, in Fort Worth, with the Rev. Mark Woods, pastor of University Baptist
Church, officiating.

Mrs. Hall was born July 19, 1908, in Wise County, Texas, the daughter of the
Rev. and Mrs. C.A. Ross. She died November 15, 2000, at Mariner Health of
Arlington, Texas, following a lengthy illness.

She resided in Wise County until 1916, when she moved with her family to Leon
on December 23. They crossed the Red River, which was frozen over, in a covered
wagon.

Her father pastored several churches in Love and Carter counties. She attended
school at Leon and graduated in 1925, one of three members of the first
graduating class of Leon High School. The other members were Ed Parsley and
Arthur Petty.

Mrs. Hall was a member and Sunday School teacher at Leon Baptist Church and a
member of the Ross Family Quartet. Moving to Fort Worth, she was employed as a
dental assistant to Dr. T.M. Hall, whom she later married. She taught Sunday
School and was a tireless worker in Travis Avenue Baptist Church for many years
until retirement, later moving her membership to University Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sisters, Bertie Brintle of Leon and Billy Mayo of Fort
Worth; one brother, the Rev. James Ross of Garland, Texas; and numerous nieces
and nephews, including a loving caregiver, niece Mary Hill of Arlington.

Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers and
three sisters.

Interment was in Greenwood Memorial Park, Fort Worth, under the direction of
Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home, Fort Worth.

the First United Methodist Church in Healdton.

Mrs. Safley was born November 5, 1917, at New Cambria, Missouri, the daughter
of J. Bert and Mabel Jones, pioneer settlers of New Cambria. She died February
19, 2001, at Presbyterian Hospital, Oklahoma City.

She attended college at what is now Truman State University in Kirksville,
Missouri. In 1937 she was awarded the Bachelor of Arts degree with credentials
in English Literature and Physical Education and taught modern dance one year
at Truman State. In 1938 she married Robert Hay Safley and they moved to
Forney, Texas, where he completed a residency at Sparks Hospital in Dallas.
Their first son, George Robert, was born in 1941. That same year they moved to
Healdton, where Dr. Safley established a practice in the Wade Drug Building.
Three other children were born after they moved to Oklahoma, Judith Anne,
Robert Bruce and Edward Nichols.

Mrs. Safley was always active and interested in civic, school and community
work. Her efforts with Zippy Ables, Glo Fortune and June Galoob were
instrumental in establishing the first lunch room program for Healdton Public
Schools. She was always active in Band Boosters, Choir Boosters and PTA. Mrs.
Safley was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Healdton
and taught Sunday School for many years; was an officer in the Ardmore Chapter
of the Daughters of the American Revolution; was active in the Carter County
Republican's Women's Club; was a founding member of the Oilfield Recreation
Association, Healdton Ladies Golf Association and the Falconhead Ladies Golf
Association; was a Girl Scouts leader; and was a member of Healdton "Tea Cart,"
Monday Study Club and the Healdton Music Club.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. George R. and Eleanor
Safley of Oklahoma City, Robert Bruce Safley of Houston, Texas, and Edward
Nichols and Rene Safley of Norman; a daughter, Judith Anne Safley of Marlow;
grandchildren, Susan and Bert Bibens of Tulsa, Elizabeth and Allen Brinker of
Maryland, Nick Safley and Ben Safley of Norman; great-grandchildren, Robert
Bibens, Michael Bibens and Emily Bibens of Tulsa, Sam Brinker and Owen Brinker
of Maryland; her in-laws, Dorothy Safley Hill and Lewis B. Hill of Drummond,
Montana, Margaret Ann Safley of Great Falls, Montana, and Betty Jones of
Albuquerque, New Mexico; and a host of nieces, nephews and good friends.

Mrs. Safley was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. R.H. Safley; her parents,
J. Bert and Mabel Jones; a sister, Elsie Jones, and brothers, Owen W. Jones and
Dr. Fred Jones.

Interment was in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Healdton, under the direction of Spivey's
Reser Funeral Home.

Memorials can be made in her honor to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation
as well as the American Cancer Society.

Graveside services for Matthew Scott Arthur, infant son of Pam and Scott
Arthur, were at 10 a.m. June 1 in the Burkburnett Cemetery with Rev. Larry

Matthew was born May 27, 1996, and died that day in the Wichita Falls hospital.

He is survived by his parents, Pam and Scott Arthur; and grandparents, Faye
Groves of Wichita Falls and Ray and Jo Arthur of Burkburnett, Texas.

                        Madaline Smith Moore

Services for Madaline Smith Moore of Oklahoma City were at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in
the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell with Rev. James Pittman
officiating.

Mrs. Moore was born May 27, 1913, near Paoli, the daughter of Frank Arthur and
Lillian Strong Smith, and died July 10, 1999, at the Edmond Medical Center.

Mrs. Moore grew up in Purcell and graduated from Purcell High School in 1935.
She attended Oklahoma University for two years and National School of Business
where she graduated in 1941. After graduation she worked for Rackley Furniture-
Hardware & Funeral Home in Purcell before moving to Oklahoma City in 1943. In
Oklahoma City she was the bookkeeper for the Oklahoma Vending Company and
retired after working 35 years. She and Alden L. Moore were married in
Gainesville, Texas, in 1948.

A member of Trinity Baptist Church in Oklahoma City and the Purcell Rebekah
Lodge, Mrs. Moore was an avid OU fan and also loved all animals. In honor of
her 85th birthday, a party was held at the opening game of the Bricktown
Ballpark.

Survivors include three sisters-in-law, Beryle Moore of Ardmore, Billie Russell
of Thackerville and Frankie Tucker of Texas City, Texas; cousins, nieces,
nephews and friends.

Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lillian Smith; her
husband, Alden Moore in 1978; and two infant brothers.

Arrangements were directed by Wilson-Little Funeral Home with interment in
Hillside Cemetery, Purcell. Pallbearers were Curtis Moore, Robert Moore, Juan
Carlos Strong, Tim Moore, Chris McCormick and Johnie Haynes.

Services for Martha Theodo Docia Crump, 84, of Arlington, Texas, were held at
10 a.m. Monday, November 13, in the Tate Springs Baptist Church with the Rev.
Charles Clary officiating.

Mrs. Crump was born January 30, 1916, in Farrah, Texas, and died Friday,
November 10, 2000, in Arlington.

She attended College Hill Church as a young girl. She and Theodore Bilbo Crump
were married February 6, 1934, and they had four children. She lived in
Marietta for 20 years. The family moved to Arlington in 1941. Docia joined Tate
Springs Baptist Church shortly after moving to Arlington and worked in the
nursery for over 40 years. Church and children were her two favorite things.

Survivors include three sons, Bobby Crump of Berryville, Arkansas, James Crump
of Lubbock, Texas, and Paul Crump of Arlington; one daughter, Janelle Taddonio
of Arlington; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three sisters,
Vera Swartz of Cleburne, Texas, Odell Gressett of Conroe, Texas, and Vivian
Hobbins of Van Vleck, Texas.

Mrs. Crump was preceded in death by her husband, Bilbo in 1989.

Interment was in the Hawkins Cemetery, Arlington, under the direction of Moore
Funeral Home-Bowen Chapel, Arlington.

                        Mary Thelma Hull

Mary Thelma Northcutt Hull. Services for Mary Thelma "Ike" Hull, 88, of
Ardmore, were held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 1, in the Eastside Baptist
Church in Marietta, with the Rev. Roy Vinson officiating.

Mrs. Hull was born January 6, 1919, in Loves Valley, the daughter of Joseph
Marvin "Bish" and Mary Comelia Williams Northcutt. She died Friday, April 27,
2001, in the Western Hills Residential Care Center in Ardmore.

She grew up in Love County, graduating from Burneyville High School. She and
Frank Hull were married February 11, 1931, at Leon, by W.H. Mapp, minister of
the Baptist Church. The couple settled at Oswalt, where Mrs. Hull became
postmaster and her husband farmed and worked in the oil fields. Their three
children were born at Oswalt. In 1945 the family moved near Wapanucka in
Johnston County where they raised alfalfa and cattle. Later they became owners
and operators of the grocery and feed store at the Bromide Y.

In 1950 the family moved to Jimtown, and Mr. & Mrs. Hull became owners and
operators of the Jimtown Store. They operated the store from daylight till
dark, until Frank's death in 1982. Mrs. Hull continued to live at Jimtown until
1996, when she moved to Ardmore into an Independent Living and Residential Care
Facility. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and making ceramics. Mrs. Hull was a
member of the Jimtown Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Nell Hull of Plano,
Texas, and Wesley and Jeanette Hull of Ardmore; a daughter and son-in-law,
Lynnita and Archelowe Terrill of Jimtown; a brother and sister-in-law, Billy
Wayne and Mary Lee Northcutt of San Diego, California; a sister, Frances Joy
Ladner of Plano; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Hull was also preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Evelyn
Gertrude Routt, Ruby Jo McCage and Dianna Christene Northcutt; and a brother,
Marvin Andrew "Bud" Northcutt.

Pallbearers were her grandchildren and honorary pallbearers were the staff of
Western Hills Senior Care Center.

Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery in Marietta, under the direction of
Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.

                        Neuman Everett Ramsey

Neuman Everett Ramsey, 84, of Sun City West, Arizona, died October 14, 1999.

Mr. Ramsey was born at Burneyville on July 17, 1915, the second of five
children, including Viola, Ray, Herschel and Cecil. His parents were Essie
Warthen Ramsey and William Beverly Ramsey, longtime residents of Love County.
He attended Burneyville High School and graduated in 1932. Mr. Ramsey received
his Bachelor of Arts from East Central State Teachers College, Ada, in 1936,
and Master of Education from the University of Oklahoma in 1939.

While working as an accountant for International Harvester, and later General
Electric in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Mr. Ramsey pursued his pilot's license,
taught aeronautics ground school, and later became a commercial pilot for Trans
World Airlines. Captain Ramsey was flying 747s at the time of his mandatory
retirement in 1975, having completed 34 years of service with TWA. He was an
avid golfer, often traveling to international tournaments with the Airline
Pilots Association. Mr. Ramsey and his wife lived for 12 years in Naples,
Florida, before settling in the drier climate of Arizona.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie; his son, Rudy; two daughters, Shawn and
Robin; his youngest brother, Cecil; and three grandchildren.

                        Newel H. "Pete" Lowe

Graveside services for Newel H. "Pete" Lowe, 88, of Gila Bend, Arizona, were
held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 4, at Leon Cemetery, with the Rev. Jimmy May
officiating.

Mr. Lowe was born October 5, 1913, at Rubottom, the son of Howard and Emma
Ivins Lowe. He died Wednesday, November 28, 2001, in Good Samaritan Regional
Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona.

Raised at Rubottom, Mr. Lowe attended school there and also farmed there for
many years. In August 1932, he and Pearl Stockton were married in Ringling. The
couple continued to make their home in Oklahoma until 1948 when they moved to
Friendly Corners, Arizona. Mr. Lowe played baseball for a team in Eloy,
Arizona, in a semipro league. In 1962 the moved to Gila Bend. Mr. Lowe was a
cotton farmer and a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Pearl Lowe of the home; a son and
daughter-in-law, Howard and Donna Lowe of Benson, Arizona; three daughters and
sons-in-law, Sue and Howard Higgs of Burneyville, Peggy and Bill Dick of Las
Vegas, Nevada, and Wilma Peterson of Coolidge, Arizona; two sisters, Burnita
Lawson of Arizona City, Arizona, and Mary Lou Hallum of Rubottom; 13
grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services were under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the First
Baptist Church Building Fund, 220 N. Martin Street, Gila Bend, Arizona 85337.

                        Norma Irene McCage Young

Services for Norma Irene McCage Young, 84, of Thackerville were Tuesday at 2:00
p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Thackerville. Officiating was Murray
McMurray, minister of the Thackerville Community Church of Christ.

Born July 5, 1915, at Thackerville, Mrs. Young died July 12, 1999, in the
Gainesville Memorial Hospital. She ws the daughter of Occie Allen and Bettie
Elizabeth Martin McCage.

She and C.A. "Buddy" Young were married February 27, 1931, in Ardmore. He
preceded her in death. Mrs. Young had been a member of the First Baptist Church
in Thackerville for 73 years.

She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Charles and Lufern Young of
Thackerville and Bill Young of Weatherford, Texas; a sister-in-law, Lucille
McCage, also of Thackerville; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; one
great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery directed by Clement-Keel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Bob Young, Joe Young, Billy Charles Young, Royce Young, Rick
Young and Chuck Scott.

Services for Norva Jean McDaniel, 82, of Rubottom, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday,

Mrs. McDaniel was born March 4, 1920, in Batson, the daughter of Simon and
Alida Boswell Hartman. She died Sunday, March 10, 2002, in Mercy Memorial
Health Center, Ardmore.

A homemaker, Mrs. McDaniel had been a resident of the Rubottom area most of her
life. She and Carl C. McDaniel were married in Marietta in 1937, and he
preceded her in death on February 6, 1991. Mrs. Daniel was a very faithful
member of the Rubottom Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Sondra and Harold White of
Marietta, and Barbara and Jim Tolbert of Wilson; a brother, Herb Hartman of
Leon; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. McDaniel was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Elsie
Taliaferro and Wilma Horne; and three brothers, Bill Hartman, Sam Hartman and
Brug Hartman.

Pallbearers were Jimmy May, Danny May, Randy May, Paul Hallum, Lance Parker and
Dale Lyons. Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Hawkins, Dale Richardson, Bill
Gipson, Jack Holland and Mike Parker.

Services for Nora Lee Black, 78, of Marietta, were held at 10 a.m. Monday,

Mrs. Black was born March 17, 1923, at Simon, the daughter of Albert and Nora
Cavins Loving. She died Thursday, March 14, 2002, at her residence.

She was reared in Love County, graduated from Orr High School in 1941, and
later moved to Wichita Falls, Texas, where she worked as a ward attendant in
the State Hospital. Mrs. Black returned to Love County following her
retirement. She and John Wesley Black, Jr. were married February 17, 1946, at
Gainesville, Texas, and he preceded her in death on January 13, 1994. A
homemaker, Mrs. Black was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include two sons, Rodney Black of Dallas, and Darrell Black of
Austin, Texas; three sisters, Mary Morgan of Simon, Viola Williams of Orland,
California, and Irene Chitwood of Rubottom; seven grandchildren and five great-
grandchildren.

Mrs. Black was also preceded in death by two brothers, Pete Loving and Olen
Loving.

Pallbearers were Odis Hearell, Toney Hearell, Odis Daniel Chitwood, Scott
Chitwood, Lawrence Black and Finley Morgan. Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery,

Services for Nannie L. Flowers, 88, of Denison, Texas, were held at 11 a.m.

Mrs. Flowers was born August 3, 1913, at Ladonia, Texas, the daughter of John
and Cora Stockwell Southerland. She died Thursday, February 14, 2002, in
Texhoma Medical Center, Denison.

She had made her home in Marietta before moving to Denison in September 2001.
Following the death of her first husband, Herman L. Flowers, she married Ted
Barfield, who also preceded her in death. A retired private nurse, Mrs. Flowers
was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include three sons and daughter-in-law, John and Sue Flowers of
Denison, Bill Flowers of Mineral Wells, Texas, and Benny Barfield of Fort
Worth, Texas; one daughter, Julie Peoples of Sunnyvale, California; three
grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Flowers was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Beatrice
Foster and Maggie Rawls; and three brothers, Theodore Southerland, Johnny
Southerland and Woodrow Southerland.

Pallbearers were John Flowers, Bill Flowers, Norman Flowers, Johnny Alan
Flowers, E.B. Martin and Edwin Richardson. Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery,

                        Opie Beeler Glazener

Let it be joyfully known that Opie Beeler Glazener, daughter of the late Dr.
and Mrs. C.A. Beeler, sister of the late Lona, Cecil and Ingram Beeler, wife of
the late George Edward Glazener, mother of Verona Belle Prokopich, and
grandmother of George Kaleb Prokopich, glorified the Father while here on
earth, finished her labors for a Kingdom of Love, and entered into eternal life
on April 22, 2001.

The family came together in Christ's peace at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, at
Lakeview Cemetery for a graveside service to mourn because we are human, and to
rejoice because we are Christians, to thank God, the Father, for the gift of
Opie's life and to celebrate the power of Jesus' resurrection, because we are

Services for Odessa Crockett, 84, of Ardmore, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday,

Mrs. Crockett was born June 11, 1917, at Boyd, Texas, the daughter of Theodore
and Mary Etta Tabner Anderson. She died Tuesday, August 21, 2001, in Mercy
Memorial Health Center in Ardmore.

Mrs. Crockett had made her home in Ardmore for the past seven years, previously
living in Marietta for 34 years. She and Robert J. "Davey" Crockett were
married September 11, 1945, in Gainesville, Texas, and he preceded her in death
April 20, 1991. A retired interior decorator, Mrs. Crockett was a member of the
Independent Church of Gainesville.

Survivors include three sons, James Crockett of Udall, Kansas, Leonard Crockett
of Bixby and Herman Crockett of Oklahoma City; a daughter, Barbara Keener of
Ardmore; a brother, Otis Anderson of Oklahoma City; three sisters, Lillie
Bryant and Effie Barnes of Bakersfield, California, and Lydia Wicklin of Pauls
Valley; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-
grandchildren.

Mrs. Crockett was also preceded in death by her parents; four sons, Ralph
Eugene Crockett, Donald Ray Crockett, Albert Joe Crockett and Teddy Dwayne
Crockett; three brothers and two sisters.

Serving as pallbearers were grandsons, Travis Keener, Kevin Keener, John
Crockett and Mike Crockett.

Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, under the direction of Flanagan-

Services for Ovis D. Miller, 70, of Marietta, were held at 2 p.m., Friday, June

Mr. Miller was born July 12, 1930, in Leon, the son of C.W. "Crosby" and Nora
Marie Dean Miller. He died Tuesday, May 29, 2001, at Mercy Memorial Health

Mr. Miller had lived in Love County most of his life. He and Edna Mae Turner
were married on August 4, 1949, in Conway, Arkansas, and she preceded him in
death on August 31, 2000. Mr. Miller worked in the oil fields as a roughneck,
retired from Marietta Sportswear after working there for 30 years, and was also
employed at the I-35 Welcome Center at Thackerville, for three years. He
enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing. Mr. Miller was a member of the
Thackerville Church.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald Joe and Cecelia Miller of
Ardmore; two daughters and sons-in-law, Vivian Ruth and Truman Patty of
Rubottom and Ova Gail and Mike Jolly of Simpson; five brothers, Alvis Tabner,
Donald Tabner and Darrell Walker of the Fort Worth, Texas area, Keith Miller
and Don Miller; six sisters, Johnnie Clannon of the Fort Worth area, Virginia
Miller of Washington, Gardenia Miller of Sherman, Texas, Wanda Alexander of
North Carolina, Kathy Miller of Lawton and Jerri Miller; 11 grandchildren and
11 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Miller was also preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Clinton D.
Miller in 1954 and Marion Prust in 1981; a brother, Dale Tabner in 1967; and a
sister, Alva Mae Blevins.

Services for Ocie Lee Claxton, 84, of Ardmore, were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday,
March 13, at Eastside Baptist Church in Marietta, with the Rev. Ronnie Harris

Mr. Claxton was born June 3, 1917, in Marietta, the son of Odie Lee and Elue
Lanford Claxton. He died Sunday, March 10, 2002, in Mercy Memorial Health
Center, Ardmore.

He had made his home in Love County for many years before moving to the Ardmore
area 25 years ago. Mr. Claxton retired from the State of Oklahoma Parks &
Recreation Service after working at Lake Murray State Park for 35 years. A
charter member of Eastside Baptist Church in Marietta, Mr. Claxton was also a
member of the Oddfellows and the National Paint Horse Association. He was a
former member of the Ardmore Moose Lodge.

Survivors include a son, Ken Claxton of Thackerville; a daughter and son-in-
law, Donna and Jim Wood of Ardmore; a sister, Girtrue Wolfe of Marietta; three
grandchildren, Lonetta Short, Shannon Lee Claxton and Scott Wood; four great-
grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Mr. Claxton was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Dixie Claxton; a
sister, Myrtle; and a brother, Kenneth Claxton.

Services for Odie Mae Whittington Harper of Oklahoma City were Wednesday at

Mrs. Harper was born September 23, 1929, at Bomar, the daughter of Dovie
Thetford and C.H. Whittington, Sr., and died July 25, 1999, after a lengthy
illness.

Raised in the Thackerville area, she graduated from Thackerville High School.
Mrs. Harper started her office career upon graduation at the Love County
Courthouse in Marietta and retired from the FAA. She and Paul Harper were
married July 19, 1947.

Mrs. Harper served the Lord in many positions in the churches she attended
during her life. At the time of her death, she was a member of Knobhill Baptist
Church.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Harper; two sons and daughters-in-law,
David and Adrienne Harper of Choctaw and Alan and Teena Harper of Oklahoma
City; two brothers and sisters-in-law, C.H. and Betty Whittington of
Thackerville and Otis and June Whittington of Shawnee; three sisters and
brothers-in-law, Sadie McPherson of Durant, Vivian and Cleo Mason of Oklahoma
City, and Ruby and Pete Jordan of Thackerville; and four grandchildren,
Makailyn Harper, Makensie Harper, Jerod Harper and Jennifer Fraysur and husband
Derreck.

Mrs. Harper was preceded in death by four brothers, Joe Whittington, Rob
Whittington, Leroy Whittington and Herman Whittington.

Services were directed by Baggerly-South Funeral Home, Oklahoma City.

                        Opal Ruth Sanders Pearce

Services for Opal Ruth Sanders Pearce, 84, of Marietta were Wednesday at 1:00
p.m. in the First Christian Church with Rev. Jim Enabnit officiating.

Born September 26, 1915, in Western Love County, Mrs. Pearce died November 14,
1999, in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta. She was the daughter of N.A. and
Flora Leah Carlton Sanders.

A resident of Love County all of her life, she was a salon owner and operator.
Mrs. Pearce was a member of the First Christian Church of Marietta where she
served as a substitute pianist and organist, sang in the choir and taught in
the adults' and children's Sunday School departments for many years. She was
also a member of the Christian Women's clubs. Mrs. Pearce was married to
Charles S. Pearce for 41 years and he preceded her in death on June 23, 1980.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, T.I. Sanders; and two sisters,
Sybil Asher and Hazel Duckworth.

Survivors include a daughter, Leah Bond of Metairie, Louisiana; a son and
daughter-in-law, Charles and Gabriele Pearce of Marietta; a sister, Jewell
Sanders Williams of Marietta; four grandchildren, Christian Bond and Benson
Bond of Metairie, Sheila Brown of McKinney, Texas, and Erin Pearce of Durant;
two great-grandchildren, Alexander Brown and Richard Brown of McKinney; and
several nieces and nephews.

Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery directed by Kennedy Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Jackie Drennan, James Howard, Benson Bond, Jerry Cochran,
Freeman P. Galt and Christian Bond. Honorary pallbearers were Jack Weldon,
George Harkey, R.A. Harper, Claude Brannan, Bill Winblood and Van Burkhart.

The family has requested that donations be made to the First Christian Church
Memorial Fund.
