Mr. Minyard was born March 16, 1934 in Love County, the son of Oscar Henry and Velma Muncrief Minyard. He died April 9, 2000, at his Gracemont residence following a sudden illness. After working many years in the oilfield, he recently retired from Helmerich and Payne Drilling Company. Survivors include his companion, Josephine Standing of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Dickie and Patti Minyard, Donnie Minyard and Lee Totzke, Derrie and Lora Minyard and Dannie Minyard, all of Marietta, and Davie and Anna Minyard of Yukon; a daughter, Raulita Southerland of Marietta; nine grandchildren; five sisters, Susie Mae Wheeler, Imogene Hood, Fern Bryant, Peggy Vanderveer and Linda Sulton; and one brother, Leroy Minyard. Mr. Minyard was preceded in death by one brother, James Monroe Minyard, and one sister, Lila Hill. Serving as pallbearers were Terry Minyard, Sammie Seeley, Deborah Stepp, Nancy Rains, James Ray Minyard and Janet Braun. Honorary bearers were Gilbert Willis, S.A. Wells, James Morton and Pete Smith.
