"Hack" Mullins 1934 - 2005 Robert H. "Hack" Mullins, 71, a retired Fort Worth police officer, died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005, at an Azle hospital. Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Walnut Creek Baptist Church. Burial: 2:30 p.m. Friday in Mount Zion Cemetery, Thackerville, Okla. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Biggers Funeral Home. Robert H. Mullins was born April 17, 1934, in Thackerville, Okla., and was a longtime resident of the Azle-Springtown area. He was a police officer for the Fort Worth Police Department for over 30 years before his retirement in 1986. He loved music, particularly country and western and bluegrass. As a child, he played and sang on area radio programs and later entertained at various police officer functions. Mr. Mullins loved working outdoors on his land, caring for his horses, cattle and other animals he raised. He was a longtime active member of Walnut Creek Baptist Church, where he worked on many projects, from helping recently on a new building to cooking each week for the Wednesday evening worship meal. Survivors: Wife, Elaine Stokes Mullins of Springtown: children, Harlan H. Mullins and wife, Teri, of Crowley, Loretta Marie Peacock and husband, Keith, of Azle and Alice M. Garcia and husband, Miguel, of Azle; stepchildren, Kelli Stokes of Watauga and Mikki Stokes of Irving; brothers, Melvin Mullins of Brazos Point, Wayne Mullins of Thackerville, Okla., Glennis Mullins of Rendon and Raymond Mullins of Woodbine; sisters, Thelma Johannoson of Salt Lake City, Utah, Emma Lou French of San Diego, Calif., and Juanita McAdoo and Joan Wilson, both of Gainesville; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Love County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/love/love.htm
