Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Freetown Road Church of Christ, 1038 Freetown Road, Grand Prairie. Burial: Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington. memorials: Donations may be made to Southwest Transplant Foundation, 810 N. Zang, Dallas 75208-4233; and In Search of the Lord's Way, P.O. Box 371, Edmond, Okla. 73083. She was born Aug. 4, 1946, to Lacey and Helen Smallwood in Marietta, Okla. Sharon lived in Grand Prairie for 37 years and taught third grade at Milam Elementary from 1968 to 1999 with longtime friend, Rita Gough. Throughout those years she influenced and inspired children of two generations. The family wishes to thank Joseph Austin, M.D. and the Baylor transplant team for their diligent care. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 18 years, Max Pollard, in 1998 and her father, Lacey Smallwood, in 1999. Survivors: Mother, Helen Smallwood of Del City, Okla.; sisters, Nita Hukle and husband, James of Shawnee, Kan., Mary Haslam and husband, Tom of Oklahoma City, Okla.; mother-in-law, Illa Mae Pollard; sister- in-law, Nelda Hunter and husband, Larry of Grand Prairie who lovingly cared for her. She was much loved by her nephew, three nieces and eight great-nephews and nieces with whom she shared her love of learning as well as numerous special family members and friends.
