Virginia Steed Rhodes

GAINESVILLE - Virginia Steed Rhodes, 72, died Tuesday, June 30, 1998.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Clement-Keel Funeral Home with 
the Rev. Hubert Wright officiating. Burial will be at New Rest Haven 
Cemetery.

Mrs. Rhodes was born in Gainesville and worked as a cook for the 
Gainesville State School. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She married Jerry F. Rhodes in 1944 at Marietta, Okla. He preceded 
her in death. She also was preceded in death by a son, Jerry B. 
Rhodes.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Johnson of Gainesville; a 
brother, Thomas Carrol Steed of Amarillo; six grandsons; and four 
great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today and 
requests memorials be to Calvary Baptist Church.
