All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::NOT LISTED Wilson, Esther Irene WILSON, Esther Irene August 26, 1926-August 30, 2007 Esther Irene Wilson (Cranmore), "Granny," passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Aug. 30, 2007, at the age of 81 after a long battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Granny was born on Aug. 26, 1926, in Marietta, Okla. She was the only child of Tip and LuLu Belle Cranmore. She had a wonderful childhood and loved to play in the cotton fields while her daddy worked around her. Granny married the love of her life, Floyd Wilson, on Jan. 10, 1943. Shortly after they were married, Floyd went off to war. When Floyd returned from the war they welcomed their first child, Esther Lucille. Four years later they welcomed the second child, Floyd Wayne, and just three short years later, Charles Lynn was born. In 1959 the Wilson family moved to Oregon where Floyd accepted employment at Hudson House. Esther picked strawberries to help make ends meet and stayed home with their children. In 1964, Esther went to work for Pendleton Woolen Mills. She retired from Pendleton in 1989. Esther and Floyd enjoyed their retirement traveling to Texas, California, and spending time with their family. Granny lived a very long and wonderful life. She was present at the births of almost all of her great-grandchildren. She gave to everyone around her. She is loved dearly and is missed terribly by her family. Granny is survived by her husband of 64 years, Floyd; her daughter and son-in-law, Lucille and Bud Hopkins; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Sharon Wilson; and son, Charles Wilson and his love, Alice. She also is survived by seven grandchildren, Tammie, Kimberly, Michele, Westly, Katie, Carrie and Tonya; and nine great-grandchildren, Ryan, Andrew, Alex, Myles, Lyndsie, McKenna, Gavin, Annabella and Skyler. A celebration of Granny's life will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6 in Prince of Life Lutheran Church, 13896 Meyers Road, Oregon City. Arrangements by Holman, Hankins, Bowker & Waud, Oregon City.
