This is almost certainly Robert A. White's grave, but it appears a DNA test is what would prove it. The following affidavit is from the homestead application of the heirs of Robert A. White. (The application also indicates Robert was born in Texas) ========================================================================== ROBERT A. WHITE Before the undersigned authority, appeared A. E. Martin M.D. and J. S. Scarbrough who being by me first duly sworn, testify as follows: That we were present at Marietta, Indian Territory on the 29th Day of October 1899 and witnessed the death of Robert A. White, who resided at Port, Oklahoma, who was here at work. That the cause of death of said Robert A. White was Slow Fever or Typhoid Fever. We were present and saw the said Robert A. White die, and we know from that knowledge that he is now dead, that he died on Oct. 29th 1899. J S Scarbrough A E Martin M.D. Subscribed and sworn to before me this the 3rd day of July, 1903. D. G. Bartlett Notary Public ============================================================================ NOTE: Robert A. White was the older half-brother to the McCune offspring. See the Ethel Love McCune URL for the story of Robert taking over after the death of Henry Patrick and Altha Elizabeth McCune. Clearly Altha Elizabeth was previously married to an unknown White (and lastly to J.J. Stewart).
