Dickerson, former county officer, is being held in the county jail in connection with the shooting of Tom Hendrix last Saturday night Hendrix died in an Ardmore hospital Sunday afternoon. A preliminary hearing was held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at which time Dickerson was bound over to District Court with out bail. A habeas corpus hearing will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. It is reported, that Dickerson shot Hendrix last Saturday night at 8:15 o'clock in front of the Scott Leeper Dry Goods Co.,'s store. The trouble is said to have started after allegedly reprimanded one of Dickerson's daughters, who was employed at Wacker's It is reported that Hendrix received blows about the head from Dickerson before the shooting began. Hendrix received two bullet wounds about the abdomen, and also a small wound on the hand. Funeral services for Hendrix was held Tuesday at the Watts Chapel. Interment was in the Linn Cemetery. Attorney R.W. Richards has been appointed by District Judge Porter Newman to assist County Attorney Sam Y. Colby in the prosecution. Attorneys Reuel W. Little and Don Welch are attorneys for the defendant.
