Henshaw of Madill, member of the Oklahoma Constitutional Convention AYLESWORTH - In Marshall Co., 6 miles East of Kingston A post office from June 6, 1903 to Oct. 15, 1943. Named for Allison Aylesworth, Dawes Commission official. BROWNSVILLE - In Marshall Co., 8 miles South of Kingston A post office from March 28, 1890 to June 14, 1902. Names for Odis L. Brown, Townsite owner. CLIFF - in Marshall Co., 3 miles East of Kingston. A post office from March 2, 1891 to July 1, 1916. No longer in existence, it took it's name from a large cliff along Little Glasses Creek, a tributary of the Washita River. CUMBERLAND - In Eastern Marshall Co. Post office established March 1, 1894. Named for the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, an organization active in local mission work. KINGSTON - In Central Marshall Co. Post office established April 4, 1894. First known locally as HELEN. Named for Jeff King long-time local resident. LARK - In Southern Marshall Co., 9 miles South of Kingston. A post office from January 14, 1889 to April 14, 1934 LEBANON - post office est. Feb 17, 1882. Named for Lebanon, Tennessee where the Cumberland Presbyterian Church had its headquarters. LINN - In Eastern Marshall Co., 9 miles East of Madill. A post office from May 14, 1890 to July 31, 1915. Named for the three Linn brothers, Simon, George and Matthew, Ranchers. LITTLE CITY - In Marshall Co., 9 miles East of Madill. Original townsite name was Pure City. Named for Ruel W. Little, Madill Attorney. MADILL - County seat of Marshall Co. Post office established April 29, 1901. Named for George A. Madill of St.Louis,Attorney for the Frisco Railroad. McMillan - Nine miles west of Madill. Post office was established on March 28, 1892. Named for Joseph E. A. McMillan, its first postmaster. OAKLAND - In Marshall Co., 2 miles Northwest of Madill. Post office established July 20 1881. Took it's name from a surrounding grove of Oak timber. Pickens Community - Between McMillan and Lebanon. Post office was established Feb 7, 1895 and closed Dec 15, 1899. SHAY - In Marshall Co., 8 miles South of Kingston. A Post office from April 2, 1901 to May 1, 1955. Took it's name from nearby Shay Prairie. WILLIS - In Marshall Co., 15 miles South of Madill. Post office established March 15, 1886. Named for Britt Willis, longtime local resident. WOODVILLE - Formerly HARNEY, in Marshall Co., 5 miles South-East of kingston. Post office name changed to WOODVILLE July 9, 1888. Named for L.L.Wood, prominent Chickasaw.
