LONG, 46, owner Madill Produce Co & subsidiaries in Johnston and Pontotoc Cos. died enroute to Durant by train, death from "acute dilation of the heart" occuring at Aylesworth. Holmes Brothers undertakers received body. Wife accompanied him. Services Rev. O.L. Adams, 1st Methodist; burial Woodbury Forrest Cem. Trip concerned plans for new 10 room house; family had just moved to former home of recently deceased Tom Hollingsworth. Born St. Louis, Mo. 30 May 1876; father in mercantile bus.,Mr. Long was member of Masonic lodge, IOOF, Elks (Spring Field, Mo.). Survivors: wife, daughter Mrs. (Louise) Junius Russell (just returned from honeymoon-father-in-law J.G. Russell), son Louis and sister in St. Louis, Miss Rebecca Long, mother-in-law Mrs. George MYERS of Muskogee. Cousin (later paper says nephew) Arthur Wolf of Cushing and cousins of Little Rock, Ark. Mr. & Mrs. Wm. Floug. Article lists pallbearers and Honorary pallbearers. Mr.& Mrs. Long came to Madill 1907 from Cushing having lost money in cold storage, ice & produce. They had been married at Willow Sprgs. in 1902. He began in wooden shack where West End Furniture store is now located. Now in a 2 story brick building near the Frisco right of way facing Taliaferro St. Well known for his word, honesty & integrity. Daughter grad of Madill High 1920, attended Okla. College for Women at Chicasha; son Louis age 11 hight school student.
