Cowen, one of the mostoutstanding citizens of the Willis section, died at hishome about 10 o'clock Friday morning, folowing an illness of a few years. Mr. Cowen was 77 years of age. Mr. Cowen moved to Wiis fromTexas 26 years ago, locating near the place that was his home at the time of his death. Both are buried in the Willis Cemetery. He died 09 Oct 1936. He was a 2nd great-grandfather of my nephew, Paul Michael Beard II. hlm] ____________
