The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ************************************************************************ Dean Dawson Is Taken By Death Christmas Day Elmer Dean Dawson, former resident of Kingston, died in Fort Worth, Texas, Christmas Day. Funeral services were held in the Nazarene Church in Kingston Sunday afternoon. The Rev. B. J. Wilkins conducted the services and was assisted by the Rev. W. F. Gipson. Burris Evans was in charge of the music. Mr. Dawson was born in Grayson County, Texas, January 1, 1893. He lived at Kingston before the first world war. His health was injured by gas and shell shock when he was in the service during that war. He moved to Oklahoma City after World War I and moved to Fort Worth, eight years ago. Mrs. Dawson died in March 1944. He is survived by four children, Eugene Dawson, Fort Worth; Ray Lee Dawson, who is in the U. S. marines; Mrs. Bernice McClelland, Waurika and Miss Patsy D. Dawson, of Fort Worth; one Grandchild; his father, E. E. Dawson, and two brothers, R. M. Dawson, and S. P. Dawson, all of Bethany, Okla. Pallbearers were, Walton Landram, Gene Flynt, Rat Buck, Cleve Lasiter, Tom Steele, Frank Landram, Homer Wilkens and Monroe Barwick.
