Files may be printed or copied for personal use only. ---------------------------------------------------- From the Madill Record June 7, 1949 George Goff Dies At Home Today George Allman Goff died at his home in Woodville last Thursday, after a three-year illness. He was 76 years old. Born in Moulton, Ala., on April 25, 1873. Mr. Goff moved to Woodville in 1903, where he lived until his death. An employee of the state highway department for 12 years, he was a member of the Church of Christ and the Kingston Masonic lodge. Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Watts Memorial chapel, under the direction of Minister Monroe Ayers. Singers of the Church of Christ sang several numbers. Goff is survived by his wife, Mrs Nannie Goff of Woodville; one son, G. A. Goff Jr., of Woodville; one daughter, Mrs. Glady Herman of Austin Tex.; three brothers, Will Goff of California, Bob Goff of Mineral Wells, Tex., and E. W. Goff of Dennison Tex.; and eight grandchildren. Masons of Kingston acted as pall bearers, and had charge of the burial services at Cherry Mound, nine miles east of Denison.
