The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Source: Madill Record 4/9/1965 ---------------------------------------------------------------- GEORGIE LONG'S FUNERAL SERVICE IS HELD SUNDAY 4/9/1965 Funeral services for Mrs. Georgie Ann Long, 82, a long-time resident, were conducted last Sunday afternoon from the Kingston Methodist church. Mrs. Long died Friday afternoon in a Sulphur nursing home. She had been critically ill three weeks and had been in ill health two years. Rev. Phil Baker, church pastor, was in charge of services. Interment was in Kingston cemetery under the direction of Watts Funeral Home. Casket escorts were Ross McCorstin, Monroe Barwick, Darrell Payne, Larry Estill, Jay Payne, Ronald Nunley and G.C. Coe, Jr. Mrs. Long was born in Marshfield, Mo., July 9, 1882. She moved to Savoy, Tex., in 1900. A year later she moved to Cliff, Okla., and lived in Marshall County and the Kingston area the remainder of her life. Her husband, A.J. Long, died in June 1952. She had been a member of the Methodist Church. Her Survivors include a son, Jessie Rose, of Kingston; her daughter, Nell Roberson of Mill Creek; six step-sons, Henry, Berney, A.C. and Marvin Long, all of Tulsa, Ray Long of Ardmore and Jakey Long of Davis; and three step-daughter, Mrs. Bertha Williams and Mrs. Alice Padeer, both of San Antonio, and Mrs. Berdie Robinson of Palestine, Tex. Also, two brothers, W.H. Davis of Muskogee and J.H. Davis of Ada; a sister, Mamie Newton of Louisville, Mo.; and four half-sisters, Mrs. Francis Landers, Eva Mahan and Fay Todd, all of Cartwright and Thelma [the rest is missing].
