The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ************************************************************************ Mrs. Dawson Is Killed in Explosion Services Held at Kingston Sunday Mrs. Leona Dawson, wife of Dean Dawson, was one of five employees killed in a series of explosions at the Pan American aircraft plant in Fort Worth Friday. Her funeral services were held at Kingston Sunday with the Rev. B. J. Wilkins and the Rev. J. S. Dennis in charge. The F. B. I. Is investigating the explosion but according to press dispatches, the accident may have been caused by lightning striking the plant. Mrs. Dawson was born March 23, 1897. She is survived by her husband; four children, Eugene and Buddy Dawson, in the armed services; Bernice and Patsy Dawson; and her mother. Mr. Dawson's father is E. E. Dawson of Kingston. Watts Funeral home was in charge of arrangements. *Note:Pan American was not an aircraft plant. It was a manufacturing plant for explosives manufacturing bombs for World War II.
