Files may be printed or copied for personal use only. ---------------------------------------------------- Source: The Madill Record- Thursday, April 28, 1960 ---------------------------------------------------------------- Augusta MAYFIELD 04/23/1960 Surname: MAYFIELD, HOPPER, STAFFORD, SUDDUTH The Madill Record- Thursday, April 28, 1960 Final Rites for Mrs. Mayfield Funeral services were held at 3:30pm Monday in Watts Memorial Chapel for Mrs. Augusta Mayfield, 83, who died Saturday in a Durant hospital following three years of illness. Born September 13, 1876, in Arkansas, she moved to Plano, Tex., when a small child. Before statehood she moved to Inidan Territory, making her home in the Kinlock Community before moving to Madill. For the past eight years, she had lived near Durant. Mrs. Mayfield had been a member of the Baptist Church since she was 13 years of age. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Nellie Bell Hopper, Paducah, Tex., Mrs. Marie Stafford, Raymondsville, Tex., Mrs. Pauline Smith, St. Helena, Calf., and Mrs. Irene Sudduth, Durant; 19 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; and great-great grandchild. Officiating at the service was the Rev. Harold Harcourt, Durant. Burial was in the Cumberland Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Cook, Fred Vanderpool, Norvel Beard, Park Edelen, Cleff Green, C.W. Southworth, Ted Miller, and Loren Harris.
