Files may be printed or copied for personal use only. ---------------------------------------------------- MADILL RECORD OCTOBER 31, 1991 pg 3 MATTIE ELSIE LYNN Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon in Madill for Mattie Elsie Lynn, a 97 year-old native and life long Marshall County resident. Mrs. Lynn died Wednesday, Oct. 23, in the Madill hospital. She had been in ill health about two months. Mark McClellan officiated for services from Watts Memorial Capel. Music was arranged by Tammie Burkhart and Louise Myers. Burial was in the Rollins Cemetery. Born Mattie Elsie Stowers on Sept. 29, 1894, at Tyler, I.T., Mrs. Lynn was a daughter of the late Monroe and Laura Stowers. She lived her entire life in the Tyler Community. She and Willie Holt were married June 19, 1912. Mr. Holt died in July 1917. She married Earnest Lynn Dec. 24, 1933. He preceded her in death in November 1941. Mrs. Lynn owned and operated her ranch until ill health forced her retirement. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Her survivors include a daughter, Guy Eva Hallmark, of Tyler. three step daughters, Marie Campbell of Vallejo, Calif., Alma Garrison of Madill and Ora Haynes of El Reno; five grandchildren, Sue Patton, Kent Hallmark, Sammy Duggins and Charles and Danny Holt, and nine great grandchildren. Also, four brothers, Loyd of Lovington, N.M., Artie Jaquess of Ada and Dorothy Maines and Ozella Savage of Madill. She was preceded in death by a son Willie Holt and two daughters, Opal Duggins and Patsy Ruth Lynn. Casket escorts for services and interment were Curtis Hallmark, Jerry Eldridge, Harvey Reid, Derron Stowers, Bud Jaquess and Don Duke. Service arrangements were under the direction of Watts funeral Home.
