REID Paul Raymond Reid, 79, died late Tuesday in a Denison Hospital. His death was attributed to injuries sustained in an Auto Pedestrian Accident here last Thursday. Mr. Reid, a retired service station operator, was injured last Thursday when he was struck by a car driven by Claude W. Ward, 81, of Madill. The accident happened about 11:15 A.M. while Mr. Reid was crossing the Highway Street at the traffic signal. Police Chief John Cox, accident investigator said. Ward had stopped for the traffic signal and drove forward as the signal changed, apparently not seeing Mr. Reid. The victim, Cox said, was knocked to the pavement, suffering a shoulder dislocation in the fall. Taken to Marshall Memorial Hospital by Marshall County, Ambulance Service. Mr. Reid was examined and found to have lost the blood circulation in his left arm. Circulation was restored and Mr. Reid was ordered transferred to Denison and placed under the care of a Specialist when circulation stopped a second time. The lifelong county man underwent surgery at Denison Thursday afternoon. His condition was termed critical from the time of his hospital admission. Death of the City man was the first inside Madill's City limits since a Durant truck driver was killed at the Frisco Spur Line crossing on US 70 about six years ago. Mr. Reid was the son of Dr. John Reid, a Pioneer Doctor in this area. He was born at Lebanon, I.T. January 28, 1894, married to Miss. Adele Lynn in 1924 at Ardmore. Mr Reid operated a Service Station at Third and Lillie for many years. He was a World War I Veteran of Military Service and a member of the American Legion. Mr. Reid was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, Shrine and the First United Methodist Church in Madill. In addition to his wife of the family home at 1008 West Taliaferro. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Emily Parker of Norman and Mrs. Barbara Raymond of Baltimore, MD.; five grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Willie Rabon of Kerrville, Tex. Funeral services for Mr. Reid will be conducted at 10 A.M. Friday from Watts Memorial Chapel Rev. Jim Smith, First United Methodist Church Pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Woodberry-Forrest Cemetery.
