Files may be printed or copied for personal use only. ---------------------------------------------------- MADILL RECORD OCTOBER 17, 1985 (Mrs. Carol Jean Pate Dies; Service Friday) Carol Jean Pate, 58, died early Tuesday in a Stuart, Fla., hospital following a heart attack suffered at Palm City, Florida, family home. Funeral services for Mrs.Pate will be conducted at 10 A.M. Friday from Watts Memorial Chapel. Mark Davis of the Madill First United Methodist Church and Harold Kimrey of the Kingston Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will be in Woodberry- Forest Cemetery. Mrs. Pate and her husband, Gardner, are former residents of Madill. They were married at Stuart last January. She has suffered a heart attack Aug. 19 and was recuperating when she was stricken again. She was born Aug. 30, 1927, in Enid to Worley B. and Ella M. Jones Lynn, early-day Madill residents and was reared in the Madill and Hobart areas. She attended School in Hobart and Madill, graduating with the class of 1944 at Hobart. Mrs. Pate was married to Don Welch, Jr., a Madill attorney. He died here in 1971. She was later married to Bill Jack Evans and moved to Bowie, Texas, where they made their home until his death in 1983. She and Mr. Pate were married last January and she moved to Florida. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Donovan of Kingston and Tim Welch of Albuquerque, N.M.; a daughter Gaylynn Henderson, of Edmond; A step-son, Jay Evans, of Bowie, nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
