Files may be printed or copied for personal use only. ---------------------------------------------------- MADILL RECORD MAY 19, 1966 (Memorial Rites For Mrs. Huff Held Wednesday) Mrs. Walter Huff, a former Madill resident, was killed Monday evening in an Eastern Oklahoma traffic accident. Funeral services for Mrs. Huff were conducted Wednesday afternoon from the Madill Church of Christ where she was formerly a member. J.D. Walker, the church minister, officiated. Singing was arranged by Lucille Murray. Interment was in Woodbury-Forest Cemetery under the direction of Watts Funeral Home. Mrs. Huff was making her home in LaFayette, La. at the time of her death. She had resided several years in Madill until the death of her late husband March 26, 1954. She was born July 2, 1905, in Bulcher, Tex. and moved to Madill with her family as a young girl. She grew up here and and received her secondary education in Madill Schools. She was married to her late husband January 1, 1925. Her survivors include a daughter, Mrs Bob Edwards of LaFayette; her father, A.M. Monroe of Madill; 10 brothers and sisters, Mrs. Lee Carlton of Madill, Mrs. Lowell Farrar of Sapulpa, Acie Monroe of Pond Creek Joe Monroe, of Cherokee, Walter Monroe of Washington, D.C., Carl Monroe of Woodward, Dr. Jack Monroe of Lexington, Ky., Dick Monroe of Calgary, Alberta Canada, Terry Monroe of Elk City, Kansas, and Mrs Jim Farquhar of Sapulpa, and three grandchildren. Other survivors include an Aunt, Mrs. Zelma Whitting, and Uncle Walter Jagers, both of Madill. Mrs Huff was traveling with another woman when the fatal accident happened. They were between Spiro and Fort Smith, in Oklahoma, at the time. Relatives here reported Mrs. Huff was en-route to Sapulpa and Cherokee to visit relatives there.
