Mr. Johnson's death came a little more than a week after he suffered a heart attack. He had been a Durant resident six years, moving there from Madill. Funeral services for Mr. Johnson were conducted Monday afternoon from Watts Memorial Chapel. Paul Shere, Madill Church of Christ minister, officiated. He was assisted by Bob Davis. Music for services was arranged by Mary Huebsch with James Phillips as soloist and Becky Corbin as organist. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery. Casket escorts were Truman Cobb, Raymond Gary, Bryan Howard, Aubrey Lynn, Ray Morris, Holland Pearce, Mike Wingfield an Jim York. Born in Weaverton April 23, 1911, Mr. Johnson, known to friends as Tom, was reared on a farm near Oakland. He and Miss. Bill Edgar were married April 14, 1934. They continued to farm several years. Mr. Johnsonwas employed by the State of Oklahoma at the Woodville Port of Entry for a number of years. He also worked as a truck driver and was in the butane business for a time. Since 1964 Mr. Johnson has been employed with the State of Oklahoma Highway Department. At the time of his death he was a construction technician. Besides his wife Bill, of the family home in Durant, He is survived by a son, Pete Johnson, of Oakland, and two daughters, Phyllis Ford of Grapevine, Tex., and Patricia Edwards of Denton, Tex. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, a brother, Dick Johnson, also of Oakland, and three sisters, Mrs. Oma Green of Madill, Mrs. Janice Ivy of Marietta and Mrs. Bell Townsend of Kingston.
