(Oakland Man Succumbs Sunday) ( born 11 December 1894) (Ellis Padgett Had Lingering Illness) Ellis Padgett, 49 , died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Eula Cavender, in Oakland, Sunday night, following a long illness. He had been in ill health for several years and had been unable to be up and about for the past six months. Prior to that time he had been employed in local Barber shops for many years. He is survived by his daughter, Virginia of Dallas, Tex., his mother, Mrs. Susan Wilson, Oakland, his twin brother, Elmer Padgett, Ardmore. Two half-sisters, Mrs. Cavender and Mrs. H.F. Johnson, Oakland, and two half-brothers, Sam Wilson, Ardmore and Joe Wilson, Hopeville, Calif., also survive him. Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ at Oakland at 3:30 o'clock Monday afternoon. Burial was at Oakland Cemetery. M.M. Ayres had charge of the music. Watts Funeral Home were in charge of arrangements.
