Lynn is Fever Victim last Sunday) (Funeral held Monday for Pioneer of Oakland) Typhoid fever claimed the life of a Pioneer Oakland resident, David Bowie Lynn, 72, at 7 o'clock Sunday morning, following and illness of about ten days. Funeral services were held at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Church of Christ, Oakland. Rev. Ira Womack, Sulphur, was in charge of the services. Burial was made in the Madill-Oakland Cemetery with Watts Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Pallbearers were J.V. Walker, Walter Marshall, Tom Neal, J.H. Pryor, Lesley Green and Nelson Kilby, all of Oakland. Special singing was furnished by Mr. and Mrs. John Landram, Miss. Myrtle Hilburn and Earl E. Ayers all of Madill. Mr. Lynn was born in Tennessee in 1860. For about half a Century he was a resident of Oklahoma and for a quarter of a Century or more a resident of Marshall County, residing near and in Oakland. The greater part of his life was spent in farming and trading in livestock. Surviving the deceased is a wife Mrs. Della Lynn; The following children. T.N. Lynn, Savanna, Okla., John Lynn, Red Fork; Mrs. C.A. Rogers, Oakland; Boge Lynn, Madill and Aubrey Lynn, Oakland. Mr. Lynn of Madill has been engaged in the Grocery and Produce business in Madill for a long number of years. A sister Mrs. Isabel Haley of Mountain View, Arkansas was present for the funeral services. Mrs.Hailey is the only one of the twelve children surviving since the death of her brother, Bowie. She was 62 years old. Among out of town relatives attending the funeral services were the following; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hollingsworth, Norman; Mr. and Mrs. G.C. Lynn and son, Pike City, Okla., Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Lynn, Durant; Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Lynn, Durant; Mr. and Mrs. W.O. Lynn, Tishomingo; Mrs. Fay Hawkins, Denison, Texas, Mr. and Mrs. Arch Lynn, Oklahoma City; Mrs. Moore, Oklahoma City; Mr and Mrs. Dave Bogle and family and Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Bogle, all of Brock, Oklahoma; Mrs. Simms and family and Mr. and Mrs. Alford Johnson, all of Mannsville; Lynn Pratt, Tyler, Texas and Mr and Mrs. Melvin Pratt of Oklahoma City. Among the friends attending the services were Judge and Mrs. Stobaugh, Tishomingo; Mr. Stilley and daughter Miss. Daisy Stilley, and Mr. Hollingsworth all of Mannsville.
