GRACE ROGERS Funeral services for Grace "Mama Grace" Rogers, 88, of
Longview, Texas, were Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. Rogers died Saturday at her
home. She was born March 4, 1907, in Sterling City, Texas. She was a
homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. Mrs. Rogers was a master
bridge player and teacher. She ran a duplicate bridge club in Irving for a
number of years. Mrs. Rogers was also  an artist specializing in ceramics.
She had been a resident of Longview two years, moving there from
Midlothian, Texas. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Colleen
and E.B. Vance of Holly Lake, Texas; grandchildren Cheryl Freeman Kern of
Longview, Vicki Lynn Shewmake of Camarillo, Calif., Jamalee   Splawn of
Lewisville, Texas, and Shawn Condor of Waxahachie, Texas, and seven
great-grandchildren. Services were in Watts Chapel with Don Huddleston
officiating, assisted by Cheryl Kern and E.B. Vance. Music was arranged by
the Madill Church of Christ. Burial was in Woodberry-Forest Cemetery,
Madill. Casket bearers were Brandon and Heath Freeman, Steve, Stan and Fred
Stanley, Sammy Sharp, Ralph Collins, Vance Freeman and Dale Splawn.
