Mrs. Rogers died Saturday at her home. She was born March 4, 1907, in Sterling City, Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. Mrs. Rogers was a master bridge player and teacher. She ran a duplicate bridge club in Irving for a number of years. Mrs. Rogers was also an artist specializing in ceramics. She had been a resident of Longview two years, moving there from Midlothian, Texas. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Colleen and E.B. Vance of Holly Lake, Texas; grandchildren Cheryl Freeman Kern of Longview, Vicki Lynn Shewmake of Camarillo, Calif., Jamalee Splawn of Lewisville, Texas, and Shawn Condor of Waxahachie, Texas, and seven great-grandchildren. Services were in Watts Chapel with Don Huddleston officiating, assisted by Cheryl Kern and E.B. Vance. Music was arranged by the Madill Church of Christ. Burial was in Woodberry-Forest Cemetery, Madill. Casket bearers were Brandon and Heath Freeman, Steve, Stan and Fred Stanley, Sammy Sharp, Ralph Collins, Vance Freeman and Dale Splawn.
