Death claimed Vester Payton Spivey, 23, Saturday, in a Sherman, Tex., hospital. The body was returned by Watts Funeral ambulance and held at the Watts Funeral home until the arrival of a sister from Milrose, Mew Mexico. Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ, Oakland, at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon, with Rev. K.N. Thompson in charge. Interment was made in the Oakland cemetery. The deceased was born February 20, 1906. He was married to Miss Gladys Rogers, May 6, 1924. To this union were born three children, as follows; Mary Guinlin, six months of age, Wetona 3, and Norman Dean, 5. Mr. Spivey leaves other than his wife and children, a mother Mrs. Cora Spivey and four sisters, as follows; Mrs. Beatrice Robbinett, Mrs. Bernice Bloomer, Mrs. Lucille Campbell, Mrs. Lola Mires. Mr. Spivey obeyed the gospel in September, 1927, during a revival conducted by Rev. Thompson.
