Files may be printed or copied for personal use only. ---------------------------------------------------- SURNAMES: Rice, Eddington, Long PIONEER COUNTY RESIDENT DIES AT CUMBERLAND John Paschal Rice, 81, died at his home at Cumberland Saturday after having been in ill heath for the past two years. He was born in Arkansas, October 31, 1873. Mr. Rice had been a resident of Marshall County since he was a small lad, living first near Woodville and later around Aylesworth and Cunberland, where he engaged in farming. He had been a member of the Baptist church since 1947. Funeral services were held in the Cumberland Baptist Church Sunday afternoon with the Rev. Andy Underhill in charge of the services. Burial was in the Cumberland cemetery. Watts Funeral Home had charge of all arrangements. Mr. Rice is survived by his wife and three children, Mrs. A. B. Eddington, Mrs. Alvin Long and Don Rice, all of Cumberland, his mother, Mrs. Mary E. Rice and nine grandchildren. Four brothers who also survive are George Rice, Okmulgee, Gordon Rice, Chickasha, Jewel Rice, Tulsa, and Bruce Rice, Little City. Casket escorts were Allie Pool, Noah Pool, Tom Pool, Shelby Eddington, W.H. Boatwright and Clayton Riddles. Honoray pallbearers were Sam Holland, Pete Winberry, Erie King, Webster Nicholas, John A. Underhill and O.C. Barker..
