Tulare St., was killed Tuesday morning in a tractor accident on Road 68, northwest of Tulare. The coroner's office said it is believed Stubblefield, who was operating a one-man hay baling machine for Joe Silva, who is leasing land at 19972 Road 68, fell off th tractor and was run over. The body was found by Gary Vierra, who was irrigating and saw the tractor in a irrigation ditch. Stubblefield was pronounced dead on arrival at Tulare District Hospital. The coroner's office said he had suffered extensive chest injuries. A native of Madill, Okla., he came to Tulare in 1937 and did general farm work. He worked for the Coberly-West cotton gin about 10 years and for about seven years was in the hay baling business with Hugh Hyatt. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Rena Stubblefield; two sisters, Mrs. John (Fay) Koffman, Chichasha, Okla., and Mrs. Lena Smith, Madill; a step-son, J. K. Brewer, Crannell, and a step-daughter, Mrs. J. M. (Thelma) Bostic, Tulare.
