The following article was noted in the Thursday, March ll, 1954 edition, and is captioned “Stout Services Held in Baptist Church, Madill”. The obituary is quoted in full as follows: ------------------------------------------------------------------ Funeral services for ROBERT LEE STOUT who died at the home of his son, BUB STOUT last Wednesday, were held in the Madill Baptist Church Saturday afternoon. The Reverend DEWEY RILEY conducted the service. Burial was in the Cumberland cemetery under the direction of the Watts Funeral Home. Mr. Stout was born in Tennessee November 18, 1871. He moved to Aylesworth more than 60 years ago, and later moved to the Linn community. He had been a prominent farmer in the county until recent years when he retired. He is survived by his wife, of Orange, California, nine children, WALTER, MELVIN, and BUB of Madill, CLARENCE, JOSIE SMITHERS, and EARNEST, Orange, California, ROBERT STOUT, Ontario, California, THELMA COLCLASURE, Fairview, California, FERN AWALT, Santa Ana, California and three step-children, VERNON ARD, Madill, JESSIE MOORE, Oakland, and BEULAH LANDRUM, Denison, Texas. There are 26 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and two sisters, MATTIE TURNER of McAlester and FRANKIE MEADOWS of California, surviving.
