SIMMONS, 77 DIES ON SUNDAY 1/31/80 Nathaniel Rhodom (Roddie) Simmons, 77, died Sunday afternoon following an extended period of ill health. Mr. Simmons was an Indian Territory native of this area and long-time resident. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon from Watts Memorial Chapel. Rev. Don Price, pastor with the Madill First United Methodist Church, officiated for services. He was assisted by Rev. J.S. Dennis. Music was arranged by Billy Presley with JoAnn Robertson as organist. Born May 28, 1902, at Aylesworth, I.T., Mr. Simmons was reared in the area of the county. He and Amanda Olive Attebery were married in Kingston Aug. 28, 1927. Working as a rancher and oil field worker several years, MrSimmons was also in the grocery business at Midwest City for a time prior to moving to Madill in 1965. He was a member of the United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Amanda, of the family home, and a brother, John Simmons, of Madill, three nieces Mrs. Jack Weaver, of Wickers, Ark., Mrs Charles Litterell, of Tulsa, and Mrs. W. H. Kopezynski, Ada, Okla. Casket escorts for services and burial in the Kingston Cemetery were Glen, Joe and Lewis Attebery, Wink Kopezynski, Charles Littrell, G.W. McAdoo, Cecil Robertson and Jack Weaver. Honoray escorts were Quinton Dishmon, Ralph Hollingsworth, Albert Long, Floyd Miller, Donald Robertson, Arbra Sparlin, Wendyl Watts and Marvin Wheeler..
