BYRD TALIAFERRO DIES IN BONHAM HOSPITAL SAT. Marshall County Pioneer of High Esteem Succumbs After Many Months Illness Madill Daily Tribune 1935 Bonham Newspaper The mother of Norborne, George and Mary Byrd Taliaferro and Mrs. LoRene Reirdon passed away in Bonhom Texas, Saturday afternoon August 10th. Widow of the late D.B. Taliaferro and member of one of the most substantial and hightly respected families of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma, for years made her home in Madill. She has been in ill health for months. Funeral services were held at the home of her sister, Mrs. H. A. McDaniel on West Fifth street at 9 o’clock this morning. The cortege proceeded to Sherman were interment took place in the mausoleum at 10:30. Rev. A.P. Johnson, pastor of the Wynnewood Methodist church at Wynnewood, Oklahoma, conducted the services, assisted by Rev. C.L. Bowen of the First Methodist church of Bonham. Active pallbearers were: Claude Dobson of Durant, Okla., Marvin Bryant, John Taliaferro, and E.C. Whiting all of Madill, Okla., T.lW. Erwin, Jr. and Dallas and Claude Willis of Tyler. Mrs. Taliaferro was born in December, 1879 in Grayson county, the daughter of Mrs. G.D.F. Whiting and late G. D.F Whiting of Bells, Texas. She married D.B. Taliaferro who preceded her in death by a number of years. Her mother, Mrs. Whiting, one sister, Mrs. H.A. McDaniel of Bonham; one brother, John A. Whiting of Denison, and four children, B.N., George and Mary Byrd of Madill, Okla., and Mrs. Jack Reirdon of Oklahoma City survive her.
