Mrs. Lola Bell Weldon

March 12,1970 Mrs. Lola Weldon is Dead at 85;Funeral Tuesday
Eighty five-year-old Lola B. Weldon died Sunday morning in a 
local nursing home. She had come to Marshall County as a young 
bride in 1905 and had been a resident of Madill for the past 40 years.
Tuesday morning services were conducted by J.D. Walker at Watts 
Memorial chapel with burial in Woodberry-Forest cemetery.
April 27,1884 was the birthdate of Mrs. Weldon in Burnside,KY. 
She moved to Shay, Indian Territory following her marriage to 
Ollie Weldon in TX.
The Weldons moved to Madil in 1930 where Mr. Weldon preceded 
his wife in death Apr.4,1950.
Mrs. Weldon was a long time member of Madill Church of Christ.
Two Madill daughters survive. They are Odie Miller and Myrtle 
Thompson; also two sons, Wid Weldon and O.H.Weldon, both of 
Chico,Calif. A sister, Martha Strunk, Somerset,KY.,survives 
along with 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Bill Dunn arranged for music for the funeral services and Mrs. 
Johnnie Ruth Jacks was organist. Casket escorts were Dempsey 
Raley, Arthur Carroll, Joyce Chaney, Buford Huff, Virgil Harris 
and Henry Morgan.
