All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Fairview Cemetery--Vinita OK The Grove Sun Daily ELVA JANE FRANKLIN 1920 – 2005 CHELSEA, Okla. – Elva Jane Franklin, 84, of Vinita, Okla., passed away January 5, 2005, at Colonial Care Center in Chelsea. She was born February 27, 1920, to Eli Fulton and Charlotte Rosa (Johnson) Kay at Adair, Okla. Mrs. Franklin graduated high school at Adair. She was very active in First Baptist Church of Vinita, as well as D.A.R. and the North Vinita HCE Club. Mrs. Franklin was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Franklin her son, John Franklin, brothers, Charles, David James Robert and Bill Kay, and sister, Louise Sutley. She is survived by daughter Sherry Allen and husband Ray of Northport Ala.; brothers, Lloyd Kay and wife Mary of Mt. Olive, Miss., Larry Kay and wife Jeanie of Sugar Grove, N.C.; sisters, June Nicholas and husband Don of DeSoto, Texas, and Ruth Kay of Dallas, Texas; sisters- in-law, Louise Kay of Norman, Okla., and Mary Kay of Omaha, Neb.; two grandchildren, Kristen McAnerney and husband Patrick, and Chad Howard; and close friends Jack, Dolores and Josh Lee and Karen and Lee Simmons. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church of Vinita, Saturday, January 8, at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to Baptist Children’s Home in memory of Jane. The family will receive friends and family Friday, January 7, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Burckhalter Funeral Home.
