DODSON, age 78 years, died Friday, April 30, 1926 at his home near Whitener and his remains were interred Saturday in the Wesley Cemetery. The cause of death was pneumonia. The deceased was a native of TN but came to AR with his parents as a small child. He was reared in the neighborhood of Wesley. Mr. DODSON served as a Confederate soldier in the Civil War, and since then has been engaged in farming and fruit growing. He was a man of proverbial honesty and industry, and it is said of him that if he had an enemy in the world, no one knew of it. Uncle Joe, as he was familiarly known, will be greatly missed by his large circle of friends, his church membership, and his family. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church. He is survived by his second wife and the following children: W. G. DODSON of Locust Grove OK, M. E. DODSON of Tulare CA, Mrs. Josie CLARK of Hindsville, Mrs Nan CLARK of Goshen, Mrs Lizzie SHARP of Mayfield, and J.A. DODSON of Whitener, all of which were present at the funeral except M. E. DODSON. Also surviving is one brother- William DODSON of Modesto CA, a half-brother John WAGMON of Locust Grove OK, and two half-sisters; Mrs Amanda JOHNSON of Hindsville and Mrs Lou INGRAHAM of Texas.
