All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ***************************************************** Allie Belle Loomis, Adair resident, died at home, near Adair on Wednesday, October 18, 2006. Loomis was a Registered Dietitian for the Veteran's Administration. She worked for 11 years as a Diet Educator for the Tulsa VA Outpatient Clinic. Loomis was born in Belleville, KS, on March 16, 1925. She attended Phillips University in Enid. There she met her husband, Loren Loomis, who she married on September 22, 1945. Loomis was a homemaker until she returned to college in 1964, earning a Bachelor and Masters degree from the University of New Mexico. She taught home economics and then became a registered dietitian. When Loomis retired from the V.A. Outpatient Clinic in 1989, she and her husband developed Holiday Farms near Adair. Loomis was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary and Hidden Assets Investment Clubs of Pryor. She also belonged to the Oklahoma Christmas Tree Growers Association, Up With Trees in Tulsa and First United Methodist Church in Claremore. Loomis is survived by: her sons, Lt. Col. Stephen Loomis of Albuquerque, NM, and Phillip Loomis of Santa Fe, NM; and daughter, the Rev. Dr. Diana Loomis of Adair. Family Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m., October 22, and a Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, October 23, both at First United Methodist Church in Claremore, with Rev. Ray Crawford officiating. Loomis will be interred at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM, at 11 a.m., Monday, November 13. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the building fund at First United Methodist Church in Claremore or Up With Trees of Tulsa. Published in the Tulsa World on 10/22/2006
