Viehweg on 23Sep2001 =============================================================== The Joplin Globe Thursday, September 6, 2001 Dottie Beulah McGarrah Dottie Beulah McGarrah, age 95, formerly of Joplin, went to see her Lord on September 4, 2001, at her home in Neosho, following a long illness. Dottie was born on February 7, 1906 in Pryor, Okla. She married Pete E. McGarrah on June 14, 1923 in Siloam Springs, Ark. He preceded her in death on June 2, 1981. Also preceding her in death were daughter, Chloe Walters in March of 2001; son, Lloyd McGarrah in 1935; her brother, John Martin; and her sister, Merle Lawing. She lived most of her life in Powell, Mo., moving to Joplin, where her husband pastored the Book of Acts Tabernacle. She leaves behind many friends. She was loved by everybody who knew her. From the time she was 18 years old, her loyalty first was to her Lord. She is survived by three daughters, Kathryn Horton, Miami, Okla., Arretta Curtis, Neosho, Mo., and Fern Sampson, Racine, Mo.; one son, Orville McGarrah, Harrison, Ark.; 20 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, 20 great-great- grandchildren; and her nieces Jean Hurt, Colcord, Okla., and Wanda Hall, Miami, Okla. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Mason-Woodard Mortuary. Pastor James Wethey will officiate. Burial will be in Howard Cemetery in Goodman, Mo. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary.
