LAUSTEN Nora B. Lausten The graveside service for Nora B. Lausten will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Her daughter, C.M. Barnett, will officiate. Mrs. Lausten, 82, of Central Point, died Tuesday (June 19, 2001) at her home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Breast Cancer Research, P.O. Box 698, Medford, OR 97501. She was born July 31, 1918, in Chouteau, Okla., a daughter of Charles and Lola (Crain) Shultz. She attended Humboldt State University in Arcata, Calif. In 1937, in California, she married George Edward Barnett, who survives. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1966 from California. In 1973 in Central Point, she married Phylip Lausten, who died in 1998. In her early years, Mrs. Lausten broke and trained horses and considered herself a Colorado cowgirl. She later worked as a salesperson for Minnesota Woolens and received many outstanding salesperson awards. She was a licensed Assemblies of God pastor, a fraternity housemother at Washington State University and a volunteer with CERVS. Mrs. Lausten traveled extensively and was working on a book at the time of her death. She enjoyed singing and playing guitar in church, and feeding people in her home. Survivors include a daughter, Christiana Barnett, Central Point; two sons, Edward Barnett, White City, and George Barnett, Medford; a sister, Delores Russell, Hemet, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Clinton Barnett; two grandsons; and a great-granddaughter. Arrangements: Perl Funeral Home, Medford.
