E. Nicholas from 1-12-2003 Examiner Enterprise Mr. Sylba Ellsworth "Nick" Nicholas, 72, a Bartlesville resident since 1959, died at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday at the family home in Bartlesville. Funeral services for Mr. Nicholas will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the Memory Chapel of The Arnold Moore Funeral Residence. Mr. Roman Ward, Jr. will be the officiant. Masonic rites will be accorded him at the graveside by the Bartlesville Masonic Lodge #284 A.F. & A.M. Committal prayers and interment will be directed in the Ramona Cemetery by The Arnold Moore Funeral Service. "Nick" will lie in state in the Drawing Rooms of The Arnold Moore Funeral Residence where friends may call for their visitation until the service hour on Tuesday afternoon. A native of Oklahoma, Sylba Ellsworth Nicholas was born at Rose on January 17, 1930. He was the son of the late George Ellsworth and Nola Jane (Old) Nicholas. "Nick" was reared and received his education in the Rose and Sallisaw, Oklahoma communities. He was graduated with the Senior Class of 1948 from the Central High District School. He attended the Oklahoma A&M College, Stillwater, Okla. He and Miss Willie Baker were united in marriage in 1949. Nick worked at various vocations before establishing his home in Bartlesville in 1959 where he worked as a brick mason before joining the Clyde Sare Travel Trailer Sales. Nick and Mary Evelyn Park were united in marriage on January 30, 1960 in Ramona and they made their home in Bartlesville. Nick worked for Clyde Sare until the company sold to the Avco Motor Home Company in 1968. "Nick" was a mechanic for the Avco Company until 1978 when he was retired. Nick then opened and operated Nick's Radiator Shop which he operated until his retirement in 1981. Mary preceded him in death on September 6, 2002 in Bartlesville and Nick had continued his residence in Bartlesville living in retirement. He was a member of the Bartlesville Masonic Lodge #284 A.F. & A.M. Surviving are his daughters, Ms. Nola Ann Nicholas, Bartlesville; Mrs. Les (Bonnie Sue) Vogt, Glenpool, Okla. and Ms. Linda K. Nicholas, Tulsa, Okla.; a sister, Mrs. Jack (Mary Jane) Erwin, Pryor, Okla.; a stepson John E. Rubison, Bartlesville; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a step grandson; and a step great grandson. He was preceded in death by his father; mother; his wife, Mary Evelyn; brothers, Raymond, J.
