Owen Funeral services for Tom E. Owen, 85, of Pryor will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Key Funeral Home Chapel in Pryor. The Rev. John Foster will officiate. Internment will follow in the Graham Memorial Cemetery in Pryor. Mr. Owen was born Dec. 10, 1907 at Kingstown to Sam Russell and Laura Carpenter Owen. He died Feb. 5, 1993 in Pryor. He grew up and attended school in Madill (OK), graduating in 1925. He attend Southern Methodist University for a short time. He worked for City Service Oil Company in various engineering capacities until 1943.At that time, he went on war-time construction for Synthetic Rubber Production and DPC. After the war, he continued with Hudson Engineering Corporation as manager of manufacturing where he retired in 1975. He was married to Lillian Jones on July 31, 1927 in Ardmore. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in 1992. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pryor, the Masonic Order #1295, the Scottish Rite and Shriners in Houston. Survivors include his wife, Lillian of the home; three nephews; one grand-nephew; and three grand nieces. The family request that in lieu of other remembrances a memorial be made to the alms fund at the First United Methodist Church in Pryor.
