A motor caravan of rodeo boosters swept through this part of the state last Friday to publicize the rodeo and the big 1,000 horse parade that will officially open the rodeo Thursday afternoon (today). In a short speech Mayor Jack Livingston of Pauls Valley invited everyone to the show and challenged Purcell's Mayor Leo Cobb to a wild-cow milling contest on the second night of the show. Cobb quickly accepted the challenge and started looking for some wild cows to practice on. All Round-Up clubs are invited to participate in costume in the big parade Thursday afternoon and compete for the $250 in prize moneys. The rodeo is being sponsored by the Pauls Valley chamber of commerce and Round-Up club.
