I have served since May, 1948." Mayor Leo Cobb stated this week. "We as a people and as a city government have faced many critical problems during my term of office. We have striven with all the facilities at our command to meet those problems, and I realize that the men who succeed the present officials will face many new and vexatious problems. I want to assure them however that as an individual citizen of Purcell, I will support and assist them in every possible manner. I have lived in Purcell all my life and have a great attachment for this city. I will always be ready to do my part in working for a better Purcell. Thanking you for the honor of serving, I am with great respect, Leo Cobb, retiring Mayor."
